This garden of remembrance features gates with gold lettering and a memorial plinth inscribed to the dead of the 22nd Cheshire Regiment who lost their lives in World War 2.
The Memorial Garden is location in the south-east corner of the Cathedral close, between the church and the bell tower. Within the garden are many 18th/19th-century memorials. Within the garden there are two focal points – a giant cruciform geoglyph with the regimental insignia at its centre, and an altar-like memorial, a cenotaph, commemorating the Second World War dead. They are linked by a central path.
The garden has many memorials including benches commemorating local veterans’ associations of the regiment, and others bearing individual memorials. The bell tower itself has a memorial inscription, commemorating its opening.

Mal wieder etwas aus dem Maintal. Nach dem einige Bilder aus Tschechien kamen, begeben wir uns nun zurück nach Deutschland. Um genauer zu sein ins Maintal bei Wernfeld. Des weiteren kommt mit diesem Bild auch nach kürzerer Pause schon wieder ein Vectron. Ein ziemlich sehenswerter wie ich finde. Generll finde ich, dass die Vectrons von LTE ein ziemlicher Hingucker sind. Die bunten Loks machen wirklich was her. Zu sehen ist 193 958 mit einem vollen Autozug Richtung NRW in Wernfeld,
Gestern ging es auf Fototour nach Unter- und Mittelfranken. Hauptziel war dabei der Ersatzverkehr auf dem RE80.
Abseits dessen ließ sich als Abschluss Highlight des Tages die 193 958 von LTE mit einem Ford Autozug in Uffenheim nordwärts blicken.

Well... Covid-19 finally hit us with our very first confirmed infected family member. My son was a close contact of a confirmed case from school last week and finally now has also succumb to the virus. We now wait to see who else in this household comes down with it.
Not bad effort though, 958 days of evasion since the very first confirmed case, Dec 31st 2019.
Not a very happy Mono Monday :(
