De loc draait nu zijn rondjes in het bekende DB-rot. Hier staat de loc nog in zijn originele DR-rode jasje maar wel met DB-keks te wachten op zijn volgende inzet. Essen, 21 mei 1995.
Deutsch: Am 21. Mai 1995 wartet die 143 947 in DR-altrot mit DB-keks im Essener Hauptbahnhof auf den nächsten Einsatz.

NS 9971 rolls under the D type signals at Adams with a mow train in tow. This along with numerous other trains are destined to Lula, GA and eventually Gainesville.
It is a shame that I had the mishap the day earlier on this trip where the camera fell forwards and scratched the 64ND filter ... meaning that I had to stack the 400ND and the 16ND for this shot, and given how bright it was I had to take the 10mm lens all the way to f/20.
Hence the details are very "soft". I wanted the clouds streaming (I also took stationary shots with the 17mm at the same time), so without the extra stops being available had to step the lens down too far.
Now with the 5D-M-III and the 17mm lens, f/20 and f/22 are actually very nice (just minor loss compared to f/11). So now I have great excuse to return to Glacier again and see if I can do this properly! I will also have some extra ND filters for the next trip as well. Better to be safe than sorry ...
