...years young and going strong.
During his working life as a crane operator at the port of Antwerp, Piet Devosch was up in his crane at the end on 1944 when German V1 bombs destined for the port of Antwerp came overhead. He told me that the British military on the quay ran to the bomb shelters but he could not leave his crane and had to stay put.
His secret for being this active at 94 : just keep breathing

Day 94: Monday, April 4, 2011: Bliss
I NEEDED THIS. Picnic blanket, a good book (*An Old-Fashioned Girl*, by Louisa May Alcott, which I've never read before), a cold diet Coke, a warm sun, a blue sky, green grass. (And a broken gate trellis, but whatever.) It was a Monday of Mondays today, so I took a forty-five minute early lunch break and lay on the lawn to read. It was wonderful, especially since it was chilly inside the house after a cold spring night, but delightfully, bone-warmingly comfortable in the sunshine. It made the entire rest of my day less stressful. I highly recommend this kind of activity, if you can spare the time and have a suitable sunny day. :)
