Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts
.....
I learned to live, half alive
And now you want me one more time
Who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?

From Sports Car Market
Fiat’s most legendary, significant, and storied production model, the 8V, was aptly described in Road & Track in 1952 as “the biggest surprise of the year.” It came as a shock to the automotive world when Fiat suddenly introduced a powerful sports car with an advanced overhead-valve, light-alloy V8 engine, Siata-fabricated chassis and four-wheel independent suspension, which could be — and was — successfully raced by privateers all over the world.
Like most sophisticated chassis of the time, the 8V lent itself handsomely to custom coachwork, which Fiat encouraged.
Carrozzeria Ghia of Torino accounted for approximately 30 to 40 of the 114 8V chassis built, of which the most striking were the 15 bodied to Giovanni Savonuzzi’s stunning Jet Age design, known, simply and appropriately, as the Supersonic.
The Supersonic design had originally been proposed for an Alfa Romeo racing car, which Savonuzzi gave a steeply raked, long windshield; a curved nose that formed a straight-through beltline, ending at small tailfins flaring off lights intended to resemble jet afterburners; and a low, glassy greenhouse. Similar styling on an 8V chassis was subsequently ordered by American designer Paul Farago, and 14 more copies followed, all of which had detail differences but remained largely true to Savonuzzi’s original and dramatic design. They are considered the most sought-after and desirable 8Vs, as they boast the best combination of avant-garde design from the Jet Age.
1953 Siata Moto Competition Spyder powered by Fiat's 8V (V-8) 2 liter engine (they thought Ford had a copyright on V-8) Successful in racing, but not in the market-place, only 114 were produced, but though production ceased in 1954, they continued to win the Italian 2-litre GT championship every year until 1959.
Siata (Società Italiana Auto Trasformazioni Accessori in English Italian Car Transformation Accessories Company) was an Italian car tuning shop and manufacturer, Siata initially sold performance parts to modify and tune cars manufactured by Fiat. After World War II, the company began making its own sports cars under the Siata brand until its eventual bankruptcy following the first Arab oil embargo in the mid-1970s.
Siata introduced the 208S in 1953 featuring Fiat's 2.0 liter 8V engine. 35 cars were produced between 1953 and 1955 priced at 5300 dollars and available in both convertible and hard top. The car rose to prominence after actor and race car driver Steve McQueen purchased model BS523 from Los Angeles-based Siata importer Ernie McAfee in the mid-1950s.
This car was used by Road and Track as a test vehicle, and they were very impressed. It also raced in 14 different major races including the Carrera Panamericana race, and has been restored to match it's condition in that race.

FIAT'S EIGHT-CYLINDER SUPERCAR
The Fiat 8V's legacy as one of the most legendary cars ever built by the Italian brand was established from the start; it would be more than fair to say that the unique supercar caused a stir when it was introduced at the 1952 Geneva Motor Show. Road & Track called it “the biggest surprise of the year,” and The Engine noted that “the last thing expected from Italy's largest car factory was a truly sleek 2-seater sedan.”
This enthusiastic response was echoed by the upper echelon of European men's racers, and for good reason: the 8V's performance was astonishing, capable of more than 120 mph from its 1.996 cubic centimeter narrow-angle V8 engine. Weighing just under 2.200 pounds and sitting on a chassis made by Siata, the 8V is designed for responsive handling thanks to its lightweight frame and relatively powerful engine. The impressive new powertrain was developed by Dante Giacosa, and the 2,0-litre, all-aluminium Tipo 104 engine featured a finned crankcase, forged crankshaft, polished intakes and ports and tubular stainless steel exhaust manifolds. With a tubular chassis, taut unibody and independent suspension all around, this was a very special car.
The short production run, which lasted from July 1952 to September 1954, resulted in the production of 114 examples of the 8V – Otto Vù In italian. Intriguingly, some cars were designed and made almost entirely in-house by Fiat's Dipartimento Carrozzerie Derivate e Speciali, or Special Bodies Department. A total of 63 copies were penned by Fiat's chief designer, Fabio Rapi: 34 cars from the first series and 29 in the second series.
The 8V, which was intended for competition use from the start, turned out to be very successful and the car to beat. Notable results included winning the 2,0 liter class of the Italian GT Championship for six consecutive seasons (1954 to 1959). Perhaps the most spectacular result for the model was achieved by coachbuilding heir Elio Zagato, who competed in the 1954 Coppa Inter-Europa at Monza, a non-championship of sports car racing, and won the 2,0-litre class with a incredible average speed of 97 mph over 49 laps.
8V BERLINETTA OTTANTANOVE
This 8V, chassis number 89, is one of those 29 cars from the second series that received a factory body with Rapi's signature "stacked" double headlights. Factory details in Tony Adriaensens' book Otto Vù from 2006 show it was completed in early March 1954 and delivered new to Vincenzo Orsini's Rome-based Fiat dealer. The 8V remains one of Fiat's most famous and sought-after creations.
Dutch entrepreneur Frans van Haren has a classic car collection that has won prizes at prestigious national and international competitions. Since 2017, he has been presenting his impressive car collection to a wider audience in the futuristic-looking, former furniture showroom 'Metropole' in Druten, the Netherlands.

"I know I can't take one more step towards you
'Cause all that's waiting is regret
Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore
You lost the love I loved the most
I learned to live half alive
And now you want me one more time
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?
I hear you're asking all around
If I am anywhere to be found
But I have grown too strong
To ever fall back in your arms
And I've learned to live half alive
And now you want me one more time
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?
And it took so long just to feel alright
Remember how to put back the light in my eyes
I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed
'Cause you broke all your promises
And now you're back
You don't get to get me back
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Don't come back at all
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
Tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
Don't come back for me
Don't come back at all
Who do you think you are?..."

Less good news on this one which was scrapped sometime around December / January. Wasn't entered for another MOT either, so presumably something big broke, or it was involved in an accident.
