The major art installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red at the Tower of London, marked one hundred years since the first full day of Britain's involvement in the First World War. Created by artists Paul Cummins and Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies progressively filled the Tower's famous moat between 17 July and 11 November 2014. Each poppy represented a British military fatality during the war. The poppies encircled the iconic landmark, creating not only a spectacular display visible from all around the Tower but also a location for personal reflection. The scale of the installation was intended to reflect the magnitude of such an important centenary and create a powerful visual commemoration.
Neben den Dampfzugfahrten um Kiruna, standen auch Sonderfahrten mit Bewirtung im Speisewagen bis nach Abisko und zurück auf dem Programm. Gegen 12Uhr ist Da 888 mit dem „Lunch-Train“ wieder auf dem Rückweg nach Kiruna. Bei Kaisepakte bietet sich den Fahrgästen ein großartiger Blick auf den Torneträsk.
In addition to the steam train trips around Kiruna, the schedule also included special trips with catering in the dining car to Abisko and back. At noon, Da 888 is on its way back to Kiruna with the "lunch train". At Kaisepakte, the passengers have a magnificent view of Lake Torneträsk.
Im Sommer 2022 hatte das Schwedische Eisenbahnmuseum ein buntes Programm von Sonderfahrten auf der Erzbahn zwischen Kiruna und Abisko organisiert.
Zum Abschluss sollten die Erzbahndampflok R 973 und die Dm3 einen Sonderzug von Abisko nach Vassijaure und zurück ziehen. Da die Dampflok aufgrund eines Kompressorschadens nicht wie geplant für die Hinfahrt zur Verfügung stand, musste Da 888 einspringen. Hier erreicht sie mit Sonderzug Rst29002 den Bahnhof von Vassijaure.
In the summer of 2022, the Swedish Railway Museum organised a special programme of train excursions on the ore railway between Kiruna and Abisko.
At its grand finale, the ore railway steam locomotive R 973 and the Dm3 were to pull a special train from Abisko to Vassijaure and back. As the steam locomotive was not available for the outbound journey as planned due to compressor damage, Da 888 had to step in. Here she arrives at Vassijaure station with special train Rst29002.

Das Highlight war ohne Frage die Bespannung zweier Erzzüge mit historischen Lokomotiven. Neben der Dampflok R 976 war auch die legendäre Dm3 ein letztes Mal vor einem Erzzug zu erleben. Die Umstellung auf ETCS im nächsten Jahr wird weitere Fahrten dieser Art leider unmöglich machen.
Zwischen den beiden Erzzügen überführte Da 888 die Reisezugwagen von Kiruna nach Abisko. Um halb 2 Uhr morgens rollt sie mit der Leergarnitur bei Rautas über den gleichnamigen Fluss.

Without a doubt, the highlight was the operation of two ore trains with historic locomotives. Besides the steam locomotive R 976, the legendary Dm3 could also be admired for the last time pulling an ore train. The changeover to ETCS next year will unfortunately make further trips of this kind impossible.
Between the two historic ore trains, Da 888 hauled the passenger coaches from Kiruna to Abisko. At half past two in the morning, it crosses the river at Rautas.
Einen Snps-Ganzzug beladen mit Rundholz hatte 159 888 am Haken und konnte wenige Minuten vor Hengersberg abgelichtet werden. Der Zug war zum Sägewerk Schwaiger unterwegs.
