Il est « illuminé » veut dire qu’en lui-même, en tant qu’être au monde, il est éclairé, non par un autre étant mais en ce qu’il est lui-même la clairière. Ce n’est qu’à un étant ainsi éclairé existentialement que l’étant là-devant devient tantôt accessible sous la lumière, tantôt caché dans l’obscurité.
