I've only seen Wood Ducks a couple of times, the first not even on water. So this was a special treat - 2 males and a female hung around for this photo session. I think I had no idea how insanely colorful they really are when that full sun hits them. Even the bill is multi-colored. This would be a male, of course, but I was also surprised how much color there is in the "drab brown" female too.
