I shot tethered for this setup - mostly to slow me down and to help me focus properly. Simon was helping me with the lights and I think secretly despairing at me eliminating shadows. It slowed me down and the wires drove me nuts!

I shot it on a white background, lighting only the background, allowing the light to spill around the subject. This technique works by placing the original over a bright background (for realistic lighting) and changing the blend mode to darken

Lighting info: Two Elinchromes into a white background from behind the subject, reflected back with two white reflectors. I left a gap between the reflectors to shoot through.
I noticed something interesting about this light setup - because the catchlight takes up most of the eye, the eyes tend to look too bright in comparison to the remainder of the headshot. I've actually darkened the white areas to keep them realistic.

Here I wanted to play on the cultural heritage of the model. It's not everyday you meet an Icelander after all! I just happened to have the fleece of an Icelandic sheep...don't ask...so we put together this image that was supposed to have that hint of sensuality (the make-up and stockings) but be tempered by the lack of any revealing aspects and the black & white tones.
