Pacific National 8250 and 8257 pass through Lochinvar with loaded grain train 5430 to Carrington, Newcastle
Mournful thyris moth
Pseudothyris sepulchralis. Very small, wingspan the width of your thumbnail or less. The flowers are redbud, a small flowering tree.
8257 leads G520, 8107 and 8230 across the Georges River at Como with an empty coal train, passing a CityRail Tangara set bound for Sutherland. The empty coal train has just come down the grade from Sutherland, and will now attack the hill up to Hurstville.
8257, 8181, 8233, 8229 approach Fairfield with a loaded coal train from the Western Coalfields. Due to trackwork on the main western line, all coal trains were heading south through Liverpool and Moss Vale.
Between Christmas and New Years Eve 2009, the main western line was closed between Granville and Lidcombe. Regular passenger services were run between Campbelltown and Penrith/Richmond via the Y-link, and between Central and Olympic Park.
