Il n’est donc pas de vie raisonnable sans intelligence, et les choses sont bonnes dans la seule mesure où elles aident l’homme à jouir de la vie de l’esprit, qui se définit par l’intelligence. Celles au contraire qui empêchent l’homme de parfaire sa Raison et de jouir d’une vie raisonnable, nous disons qu’elles seules sont mauvaises.

Op 16 januari 2021 verraste Infrabel met één van hun sneeuwruimers nog eens van stal te halen. In Libramont (het hoogst gelegen station van België) lag een sneeuwdek van een goede 30 a 40 cm en hierdoor werd de hulp ingeroepen van de 8221 van Infrabel! De loc reed op eigen kracht in de vroege ochtend over lijn 162 van Ronet tot in Libramont.
Na aankomst in Libramont mocht de 8221 de infra bundel + keer driehoek volledig sneeuwvrij maken. In deze keerdriehoek werd dan ook de bovenstaande foto gemaakt.
De 8221 kwam bij de NMBS in dienst op 13/05/1966, in 2006 werd de loc aangepast om met een sneeuwruimer te kunnen rijden.

This mornings early departure EEMS Spirit leaving Sharpness....
EEMS SPIRIT (IMO: 9559626) is a General Cargo and is sailing under the flag of Netherlands. Her length overall (LOA) is 99.23 meters and her width is 11.42 meters.
Conrail 8221 & 8222 lead an Eastbound local freight out of Conway Yard at East Conway in Baden, PA on October 13, 1994. It was our last day in PA before moving to NY and a better paying job. We had come to say goodbye to Joe & Lucy and caught this train before heading up to their house. The 2nd unit was Trudy's favorite Conrail engine, the 8222. She got to run it for several miles one night on the Youngstown Line. I have a pic of her in tears as it passes by on the other side of the bridge a moment later. A fitting end to our last day in PA.
I missed all the''peregrine shots'' so I deserved a bit of luck with this one ! :-)
