One of the better looking JS-class locomotives I saw in Sandaoling was the 8197. It is seen here rounding the final curve in the pit before a strait line ascent to the mouth of the pit which is roughly the same elevation as the blue and white structure in the background.
It's hard to believe that this photo was taken earlier this year and that such places still exist in the world where authentic industrial scenes can be recorded.
JS 2-8-2 8197 struggles to get her train of coal underway from the Xikeng loading facility.

Monday, Monday
Just before I headed home after work on that Monday, ATCS was showing an eastbound at Becker. I worked in Elk River at the time and since I had no plans, I decided to wait it out.
Seeing it was five EMDs on the H-LAUNTW, I gave chase and almost lost. Chasing anything east out of Elk River is hard, mainly because of the traffic lights and lower speed limits. Thankfully this train terminated at Northtown, otherwise the odds were not in my favor.
Here the H-LAUNTW slowly rolls past as they are about to take the MYL into the yard and then call it a day.
