Knapp 1000 Minuten Verspätung hatte der Dusloganzzug nach Neuoffingen an diesem Tag, als ich bei Langenisarhofen ein Bild machen konnte. Die saubere 193 814 führte den Zug an.

Juromenha became a village and county seat under D. Dinis reign. The Islamic defence walls have been strengthened by the construction of 17 square towers, whereas the keep is 45m high. The royal marriages of Afonso IV de Portugal to Beatriz de Castela and Afonso XI de Castela to Maria de Portugal took place here. Part of the castle was destroyed in 1659 after the explosion of a gunpowder magazine. The paths of 13th and 17th century walls have remained to the present time, along with the ruins of Paços do Concelho, Casa do Governador and the keep. Medieval weepholes, 16th century bastions, gaps, bartizans and cannon batteries still prevail in the right bank of the Guadiana, which became thicker due to the filling of Alqueva dam.

NS 814 crosses one of the many trestles on the former VGN (Altavista District)between South Yard in Roanoke and Abilene where it'll connect to the former N&W (Blue Ridge District) line to Crewe, VA. Once out of Crewe, the final 129 miles are on the Norfolk District to it's final destination at Lamberts Point Terminal. Currently coal trains are running with ID crews from Roanoke to LPT.

Der Monte Generoso ist ein Aussichtsberg, der bei klarem Wetter einen Überblick über den gesamten Alpenbogen von den Seealpen bis zum Piz Bernina ermöglicht. Bis kurz unter seinen Gipfel führt seit 1890 von Capolago aus die Zahnradbahn Ferrovia Monte Generoso (MG); Betriebszeit ist in den Sommermonaten von April bis Oktober. Generoso-Vetta, die Bergstation, liegt auf 1605 m ü. M. direkt an der Landesgrenze (s. Bild). Die Bahn ist die einzige «typisch schweizerische» Zahnradbahn südlich der Alpen. 1940 drohte mangels Geld die Einstellung des Bahnbetriebs. Der Migros-Gründer Gottlieb Duttweiler setzte sich vehement für die Erhaltung der Zahnradbahn ein, wodurch die Migros die MG übernahm. Wikipedia

Just like that, as we climbed down the hill to the shores, the sky started clearing up, creating a very warm foreground and a cool background. I don't understand how the mountain we are on was covered with vegetation (at least most of it was, except for its rocky peak, while the next mountain barely a mile away is barren, with nothing but rock and snow.
At any rate, if I ever took up painting, this would be the second image I would probably tackle, after the one below!
