Left to roam wild on the moor, this was taken at the top of Cloutsham, a favourite area for watching the wild Red Deer of the moor.
Sinds april rijdt Lineas de staaltreinen tussen Gent en La-Louvière via L122. De normaal voorziene traxx locomotieven worden hierdoor vervangen door 77'ers waardoor diezelfde traxx'en vrijgespeeld kunnen worden voor andere diensten.
Op de foto is een koppel 77'ers te zien met aan de haak de staaltrein 39744 Gent - La-Louvière bestaande uit een nieuw type wagen voorzien van een platte container met rongen. Op deze wagens kunnen ook staalrollen beladen worden.
I have to give Simon credit for this image. (My Kenyan guide) We had been following these two cheetah brothers, who were busy walking and marking their territory. Later, as the sun was setting we were in our usual haste (Simon) panic (me) to find a suitable subject for a silhouette. Simon saw the brothers climb this large termite mound and quickly got us into position. (Acinonyx jubatus) (Sony a1, 200-600mm lens @ 200mm, 1/2500 second, f/6.3, ISO 640)

These 8 inch flowers bloom during the night and linger a short while into the morning. This was on a neighbors cactus and was beautiful. Natures natural beauty is hard to beat.
There are coyotes in the foothills around the park where I work, and on occasion you might see them. They can get quite a chorus going as the sun goes down. But this one and its partner really tore at the heartstrings of our park staff. They both had severe cases of mange. We would see them on the edge of the wild area, sacked out on a corner of the park, hoping for a handout. We named this one Rusty. She looked so bad, almost no hair, open wounds, in the dead of winter. Every day I wondered if I would see her alive again, it was so heart-wrenching. But we managed to get treatment for them, and this image is now 2 months after treatment. Her fur is really filling in, she's perky and hunts for herself. No more begging on the corner. Just a sweet endearing pup. It's a happy ending with a big smile.
Check her large. Look at her chest now - wonderful new fluffy fur where she had almost none.
