For my 100 Flowers Project - 2022
A glorious sunny day, most of which I have spent tidying up the garden. I did take a quick walk to the Post Office and spotted a couple of flowers for my 100 Flowers Project
Being a contrarian, I figured that while most of us will focus (literally!) on the mouth and neck of bottles for this week's Macro Mondays topic, I'll give a closer attention to the heel and bottom...

Smoke Antennae or would it be Smoke Antennas? not sure since it is not radio antennas or Insect antennae? Thank you to all, this is #75 the major hurdle to clear in doing 100 shots in a year, 25 more to go, I am ready to stick a fork in this not sure how someone does the 365 shots in a year, just glad that they can do it. September smoke is almost done and can get ready for October.

Um das Osterwochenende 2023 verkehrten zahlreiche Dampfsonderzüge. Dank der EisenbahnFreundeZollernbahn und deren 50 jähriges Jubiläum auch in Baden-Württemberg. Storzingen waren der Mittelpunkt dieser Veranstaltung und auch gleich Austragungsort des hiesigen Bahnhofsfestes. Von dort aus fanden täglich mehrere Fahrten Richtung Ulm, Tuttlingen und Sigmaringen statt. Einen dieser Züge bespannte die 75 1118, welche hier am Einfahrvorsignal von Storzingen zu sehen ist.
Yesterday was the warmest Sept 2 day for more than 100 years as we hit 27 degrees. But a couple of days earlier we had a 5 degree C start followed by a moderate 17 degrees. Such is spring in Melbourne.

Portrait from the D-Day 75th Anniversary Dakota Flight of DC-3 and C-47 aircraft crossing the Atlantic on the same route that they took 75 years ago. This fine costumed Airborne Paratrooper was happy to pose for me here at Prestwick International Airport, Scotland.
I choose to remember with reverence, those who fought for Victory in Europe, particularly today, on the 75th Anniversary. We should never forget the sacrifices of all of them and their loved ones. I do not, however, choose to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of victory. We needed victory at the time to bring peace and while I remember the victory with reverence, I celebrate the 75 years of Peace in Europe that they brought us. They fought for peace and I choose to celebrate that peace. May peace endure in their honour. Lest we forget.

On this day in 1946 the PS Waverley was launched at the Pointhouse yard of A & J Inglis, at the mouth of the River Kelvin and close to the site of the @riversidemuseum It wasn’t until the following year on 20 January 1947 that she was towed to Greenock for the installation of her boiler and engines. Finally she made her maiden voyage on 16 June 1947 and started what has become a very long and illustrious career.
