Sein Name beschreibt genau, wo das neue Hochhaus am Fluss zu finden ist: Rheinkilometer 740. Im Düsseldorfer Stadtteil Heerdt entstand es am Standort des ehemaligen Dominikus-Krankenhauses, für das auch einige Nutzungen integriert wurden. Entworfen vom Berliner Architekturbüro J. MAYER H., entwickelt sich seine schlanke, organische Silhouette aus einem breiteren Sockel entlang der Pariser Straße. Dieser enthält auf fünf Geschossen Arztpraxen, Geschäfte für Medizinbedarf sowie eine Ebene mit Operationssälen. Darüber beginnt auf 14 Stockwerken eine Wohnnutzung mit großzügigen Loggien und Dachterrassen, die zum Teil in den dreidimensionalen, halbtransparenten Fassadenelementen zu verschwinden scheinen. Dabei verleihen die wolkenförmigen, sich wellenden Metallbänder dem Gebäude eine skulpturale Anmutung und sorgen zugleich für Sicht-, Wind- und Sonnenschutz.

Un alignement d'AGC garés froids pour le Dimanche à Sarreguemines, sous la neige. Début 2016, à quelques semaines de leur fusion, les régions Lorraine et Alsace affichaient encore leurs logos et couleurs sur leurs engins respectifs. Avec la création du « Grand Est », ces livrées disparaitront progressivement en faveur d'une livrée unique. Et une photo qui a la mérite d'illustrer une bien triste réalité : 2016 aura vu s'éteindre les dernières rames tractées sur l'étoile de Sarreguemines, en faveur du tout automoteur. Les AGC eux-mêmes ont (presque) disparu de bon nombre de ces relations, remplacés par les nouveaux REGIOLIS Lorrains et Alsaciens.

In una fredda mattina di metà dicembre, la Gr.740.293 di Fondazione FS è impegnata al traino del TS 96016 da Carpanè Valstagna (VI) a Pergine Valsugana (TN) organizzato dall'Associazione "La Carrozza Matta" dedicato alla visita dei mercatini Natalizi. Qui in transito presso Levico Terme (TN) composto dalle carrozze Bz 36686, Bz 36090, AB 66538, Bz 36299, Bz 36632 e dal bagagliaio Dl 92094.
On a cold morning of mid-December, Gr.740.293 of the Fondazione FS is engaged at the towing of the TS 96016 from Carpanè Valstagna (VI) to Pergine Valsugana (TN) organized by the Association "La Carrozza Matta " and dedicated to visiting the Christmas markets. Here in transit at Levico Terme (TN) composed of carriages Bz 36686, Bz 36090, AB 66538, Bz 36299, Bz 36632 and luggage compartment Dl 92094.
The specially painted DC to AC NS AC44C6M #4001 is the rear DPU on 740, an eastbound loaded Duke Power train for North Carolina, passing under the signals at Maher on a clear February afternoon.
Eastbound NS 740, with an SD70ACC rebuild leader, passes the site of the 826 derailment from May 2020 at Sprigg, WV. Almost 2 years later and not much had changed at the derailment site, which resulted in the single crossover being removed, as well as a pile of coal cars along the side of the right of way.
