Op 11 December 2019 staat de NSR 7337 met achterop de 1741 klaar voor vertrek te Zutphen als Sprinter 7666 naar Wijchen.
The wagon repair workshop at Monceau still uses vintage motive power to shunt the workload in and out of the building. 7337 pauses with a few Infrabel wagons behind it on 17/09/2019.
Built as UP 7051 in August 1996, this big GE was built with the internals of an AC4400CW but with the body of the bigger AC6000CW. At the time, GE was struggling with teething issues in their 6000 hp 7HDL prime mover. Rather than purchase more AC6000 locomotives, UP worked a deal with GE to purchase 4400 hp diesels that would be upgraded to 6000 hp when the problems were sorted out on the higher horsepower engine.
That day never came, however, and this locomotive has served with 4400 hp its entire career. It received a rebuild from GE/Wabtec, released with a fresh coat of paint in July 2018.
Here, UP 7337 still looks sharp with its wings on the nose as it leads a manifest westward out of Houston.
