More towards the end of a long infrared safari, already overcast so no direct sunlight, therefore the foliage / plants are not shining too heavily. But the IR characteristic is still there.
I like how the fields form kind of a mosaic pattern, looking different depending on the vegetation or the soil. I was once there with my 80-200mm AI-S (which is nice for IR when operated carefully) and discovered a distinct pattern in one of the fields, but only the IR spectrum made it visible. Wonder what that is about. Maybe there was once a construction (drainage?), due to its clearly man-made shape..

Sorry about the lack of posts but I have too many other social media sites to keep updates. So I haven't had the time to post here but I will try to upload a few images every once and awhile still.
This is a shot taken at the top of Sefton Bivouac, which is very close to Mt Cook (behind). The hut was built in 1917 and is directly below the Footstool, which is a mountain on the main divide of the Southern Alps. It was a pretty challenging climb to the top and is only recommended for mountaineers (no official track). Here is a picture of the climb up:

This image consists of five vertical 36mp images, stitched into a 16:9 72mp photo. I had about 2 degrees downward shift, aperture f/10, ISO 100 and a shutter speed of 1/5 of a second.
It was such an amazing experience camping up high and especially so close to these massive glaciers. I also had such a clear sky at night, so the Milky Way was pretty amazing!
I hope you all enjoy the picture.
Cheers

6 shot vertical panorama taken from the Palomar Mountain lookout. The original is 72MP. Required significant de-hazing and color correction. If you look closely, the Pacific Ocean is barely visible in the top-right corner. There was one flock of birds that followed the panning of my shot and therefore appears across the entire frame as a single flock. About an hour later, there was an incredible sunset but unfortunately by that time I was off the mountain.

"The North Point Light Station has a long history of guiding mariners to Milwaukee. Its location was chosen to mark the north point of Milwaukee Bay. Erected in 1887 and first lit in 1888, the 39-foot octagonal cast-iron tower replaced an 1855 cream-city brick lighthouse built too close to the eroding bluff. The Queen Anne - style keeper's dwelling was built at the same time. In 1912 the tower was almost doubled to its present height of 74 feet by lifting the existing tower atop a new structure. This resulted in a light source 154 feet feet above the level of Lake Michigan visible up to 20 miles away."
[The lighthouse was deactivated in 1994.] "In 2003 the two-acre property was transferred to Milwaukee County. The North Point Lighthouse Friends and Milwaukee County completed restoration of the light station on 2007."

Just showing off what my new scanner (Nikon 9000ED) can do combined with my panoramic camera, producing 6cm x 17cm images using 120 films
I scanned each half of the film as 6"x9" images at Nikon's highest optical resolution (4000dpi) and digitally stitched them, the resulting image was:
- 24351px X 8407px
- TIFF file: 1.2GB
- JPG file: 220MB
For the record:
> 6x7 camera produces 11000px x 9000px images = 100MP camera
> 6x6 camera produces 8500px x 8500px images = 72MP camera
> 135mm camera produces 5900px x 4000px = 23MP camera - nearly a D3X :-)
Some crazy numbers there and I don't think I need a digital camera for a very long time :-)

Breguet Atlantic 41-03/MM40118 preserved at the Italian Air Force museum. Italy ordered 18 Atlantics in the late 1960s to replace Grumman Trackers in the anti-submarine and maritime surveillance role. The type became operational in 1972 and remained in service with the Italian Air Force until 2017 when they were replaced by the ATR 72MP. This example made the final flight of the type in Italian service.
