Have you seen the butterfly on the tree? Nor did the woodcreeper...

Every year, Sydney has the Sculptures by the sea exhibition on the coastal walk that goes from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach. The exhibition part of the walk is about 2kms along quite a spectacular area overlooking the Pacific Ocean/Tasman Sea. The exhibition is usually run at this time of year for about 3 weeks. Is there a better back drop for such an exhibition? I think not!

There was quite a crowd as this is a popular tourist attraction and I had to wait many times for a clear shot at some exhibits.

Food all year round for chiffchaffs on the Canary Islands so they are quite a regular site. This one is sitting on almond blossom in the hills above Santiago del Teide and searching for insects. It is a subspecies of our UK summer visitors and named Phylloscopus canariensis

The birds were quite confused and looking for shelter during yesterday's extremely early, historic snowstorm.

This is a good example of what this little Northern Pygmy Owl did when a scary Chickadee flew above him. This is a change in posture called "tall and thin" and is a sign of distress. He does it to make himself look bigger or to escape detection. It was chickadees that finally drove him away. Actually, the mobbing of chickadees was how I saw my first Northern Pygmy Owl in a local park several years ago.
