Fallow Buck - Dama Dama

Fallow deer have four main variations of coat:

Common – tan/fawn, with white spotting on flanks and white rump patch outlined with black horseshoe shaped border. Coat fades to a general grey colour during the winter

Menil – paler colouration with white spots year-round and a caramel horseshoe shape on rump

Melanistic – black, almost entirely black or chocolate coloured

White – white to pale sandy-coloured turning increasingly white with age (this is a true colour and not albino).

Fallow deer often have a distinctive black inverted horseshoe shape on their rumps, and a black stripe on their tails which are the longest of all British deer.

The Fallow deer is the only species in Britain with palmate antlers. These become full-sized after the deer are three/four years old and can reach up to 0.7m in length. Facially, their head is more elongated than some species with large angular ears.

Does and their young give short barks when alarmed. Bucks groan loudly during the breeding season.

Fallow deer leave large hoof prints (slots), about 6cm long in soft ground. Their feet are more elongated than Roe deer and are heavier, creating deeper prints.

"Miauw, miauw……. I'm so happy to tell you she is back…..miauw", says the little origami cat.

I had a great time off and also folded a lot during my summer break, like this cute 3D-cat. It is standing on the same patterned paper as which it is folded from.

Hope you all are fine and in good health too. Happy Sunday ;-)

Rhodanthe chlorocephala is a native Australian daisy belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is widely grown due to its attractive flowers and foliage, and because it’s hardy, adaptable and provides a good, fast ground cover. The flowers are long-lived and dry well. Rhodanthe chlorocephala subspecies rosea is the most widely grown subspecies and is commonly known as “Pink and White Everlasting”, “Rosy Sunray”, “Pink Paper-daisy” and “Rosy Everlasting”. It grows naturally in the south of Western Australia extending into South Australia. Rhodanthe chlorocephala subsp. rosea is an erect annual herb 20-60cm high with clumps of glabrous (hairless) grey-green stems and leaves 1-6cm in length. It has a large single flowering head at the tip of each stem. Flower heads grow to 6cm diameter, gradually decreasing as the flowering season progresses. The color of the bracts varies from deep pink (almost red) through pale pink to pure white, with a yellow or black centre. 5850

Steven Casey was inspired by John Richardson's hedgehog, that I folded earlier (see first comment box). This model (folded by me), is his first version of an origami Echidna or Spiny Anteater.

If you are interested, I made a photo-collage of the sequence of some of the in-between-steps, while I was folding.

Steven Casey has also created a second, more developed version. I will show you, when I finished folding it ;-))

I will be off for a few days. Take care, stay safe and healthy!!

This is SO not me! But I've enjoyed looking at past macro photos and trying new and more vibrant ways of photography.

Macro Mondays theme Odd

Love this theme! There are so many wonderful photos being posted on the Macro Mondays Group for today's theme and so many interesting and creative interpretations.

These are some tiny little geometric quartz crystal shapes I bought sometime ago and haven't really had the chance to use them in any themes so far ...until today of course 😊

...and the odd one out? ...well I leave that for you to decide 😊

The frame measures roughly 6cm in total width and comfortably fits in with the group's size restrictions.

Happy Macro Monday! 😊

First try with my new Shen Hao filmback. The filmback works on my "Graflex Speed Graphic" and allows recordings in the format 6cm x 17cm. I'm quite happy with the recording. However, you can see that the lens from the 1960s has trouble with edge sharpness. The circle of light is large enough, but the focus is only up to 12cm. Well, I guess I'll have to look for another lens!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is pouch.

At first, I was very, very skeptical…. I had no idea what to photograph… Strangely enough the more I was looking for pouches the more I was finding !! Sometimes it is so great to be a hoarder !! You have no idea, lol

Indeed, I found this awesome electric blue circular pouch. It is about 6cm of diameter and the color is awesome ! We use it to store memory cards and other small electronic items. Dont ask me where i got it: I have absolutely no idea.

And why is there a strawberry in it ? Just because it is red (and today is a red day !!) and also we had to include something inside the pouch for this theme.

So here you go: happy electric blue pouch and red strawberry day to you all !! See you later !!

Happy CMWD and happy MM to all participants !! And for the rest of us : happy day !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr !!
