Pourquoi corps d’ainsi d’inconfort.
Pourquoi être de vie si mal.
Nulle chance d’être bien-être.
De moi promené normal,
De loisirs tenus si piètre.
Mon âme souffre partout,
De devoir vivre emmurée,
Mes songeries comme seul atout,
De petits bonheurs mesurés.

Conrail U28C 6524 leads a train on the Falls Road in Lockport, NY on April 16, 1978. This is CP78 at Vine Street, and Google Maps shows just a single track here today that is operated by the Falls Road Railroad.
Leaving the Tehachapi Valley the rails of Union Pacific's Mojave Subdivision trades positions with the Tehachapi Creek before coming to ride above the creek's southern bank as the two, along with California Highway 58, enter the confines of the Tehachapi Creek Narrows. So narrow is the railroad's cliff side position 4 tunnels were required to take the railroad from Marcel to Cable during its construction in 1876. Leaving Cable a westbound Z train carefully drifts down the western slope, the head end consist has emerged from tunnel 17 just long enough to catch sunlight before ducking into tunnel 16.
