The Kelpies are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures depicting kelpies (shape-shifting water spirits), located between Falkirk and Grangemouth, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland. Towering above the Forth & Clyde Canal, The Kelpies are a feat of engineering, each made with 300 tonnes of structural steel; a steel frame with stainless steel cladding. The sculptures were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and were completed in October 2013 to form a gateway at the eastern entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal. The Kelpies are a monument to horse-powered heritage across Scotland.

Op 2 juli besloot ik een ochtend in de omgeving van Wondelgem door te brengen, gelukkig maar: het doel was om Lineas naar Disteel te zien, iets wat toen gebeurde vanuit Langerbrugge. Vaak in de ochtend kwam een locomotief uit Gent Zeehaven met een gemengde trein naar Langebrugge om eerst naar Taminco te gaan, dan naar L217 en uiteindelijk L216. Gek genoeg wordt L217 nu precies enkel op enkele dagen in de namiddag aangedaan en valt de rit 's ochtends waarschijnlijk definitief weg. Al is dit héél goed om de cockerill goed voor de zon te fotograferen, heeft het een enorm groot nadeel: de loc zit altijd aan de kant van Wondelgem. Die kant staat tot de middag goed voor de zon. Met de nieuwe planning is het hier niet meer mogelijk zonfoto's te maken van de Lineas trein.
Nog voor de trein naar Disteel reed werd gewacht bij Wondelgem voor ander verkeer. Ik had een 6500 gezien met een trein in Gent-Zeehaven maar was slecht aan het opletten en dus had ik het niet goed gezien. Er werd lang gewacht in Wondelgem, maar uiteindelijk kwam de 6507 met een lege coilstrein naar Nederland langs de fotograaf!

Na doorkomst van de bediening vanuit Yara ging het richting lijn 97. Hetzelfde koppeltje 77'ers had namelijk een beladen trein uit Monceau tot Saint-Ghislain meegebracht dewelke vreemd genoeg door DB Cargo verder naar Yara doorgezet werd.
Nadat Lineas de bundel van Saint-Ghislain binnen gereden was vertrok DB meteen naar Yara. Zontechnisch werd de trein niet op de lijn 100 opgewacht, maar wel op lijn 97 net voor de wissel die aftakt naar Tertre.

My office is at around 50m away from this point. Imagine working on the computer while listening to it. During more than one month I have been hearing it over there without being able to go with my camera or simply watching it. It´s been too hard to hear it and working from monday to sunday. But, at the same time it gave me energy not to give up. This picture, like all I take are the way they are in Nature. I use ANY kind of attraction way, perch or modification in the outdoors. There are just a camo net and much love (and patience) between them and myself.
