Vor mittlerweile ziemlich genau 2 Jahren ist die Baureihe 611 komplett aus dem Verkehr ausgeschieden, nachdem 5 Exemplare noch ein Jahr lang eine Gnadenfrist bei der RAB nach dem planmäßigen Ende im Mai 2018 bekommen haben.
Auf dem Bild sind 611 020 und 045 im Juni 2019 als RE nach Ulm Hauptbahnhof bei Ehingen an der Donau zu sehen.

Utah Railway's RUT611 local blasts through the Jordan Narrows in Bluffdale, Utah on April Fools Day, 2007.
BB 18 West drags the N&W 611 and the excursion consist West at Goshen, VA, where the excursion train will be based for the next month, making excursion runs for the Virginia Scenic Railway. The ferry move took over 11 Hours to get from Roanoke, VA, to Goshen, VA.
April 2016 and 611 is north of Greensboro, NC. think it was headed to Roanoke. Nice angle to show off with.
The sunset shines on the side of the N&W 611 as she sits under steam at the North Carolina Trasnportation Museum. Once night fell, everyone's cameras would be clicking away for the night shoot, so it was nice to take a moment and get a sunset shot that not many others got. It was also nice to see her under steam one last time in 2019. Who knows what, if any, plans will be had for her next year.

After shooting a EDBF, NECR train 611 was about 30 min behind. With yet another G&W heat restriction, an easy chase was made from Vernon to Brattelboro. Train seen cruising at a brisk 25 mph through Vernon, VT

IORY 2109 heads towards Washington Court House, OH on the old Midland Route as it passes Cargill's SD9M at the massive grain/ethanol plant in Bloomingburg.
IORY 2109 is a former GP38-2, built for the Southern in 1972. CRGX 611 originally started as a D&MIR SD-9 in 1959, and rebuilt from LTEX 301 to Cargill 611 in February 2020.
Wie bereits kürzlich berichtet, schrumpft der 628-Bestand des BW Kaiserslautern weiter. Ein weiteres Fahrzeug, das die schöne Pfalz Anfang Mai verlassen hat und nun im Stillstandsmanagement in Karsdorf abgestellt ist, ist der 628 611. Am 02.03.25 war der Mumienroller noch auf der Lautertalbahn unterwegs und konnte am Nachmittag bei Heinzenhausen auf seiner Fahrt nach Lauterecken-Grumbach fotografiert werden. The last Norfolk and Western Railway class J (1941) steam engine was retired in 1959. This streamlined engine was the epitome of steam engine technology; it was designed for passenger rail and it was built for speed. Steam technology was replaced by electric-diesel which is much cleaner, more efficient and has more pulling power.
