Ils (les arbres) sont mélomanes. Ils grincent, chuintent, bruissent. Leurs feuillages murmurent des secrets. Leurs troncs se plaignent de souffrances. Entrer dans la forêt, c'est s'installer sous l'orchestre.

I would love to have my original slide of this image back. This is a scan of an 8 X 10 print of TV-98 on Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro, PA on March 4, 1979. The Gulf Summit helper is on the front, too bad it wasn't pointed the other way. I have done a lot of dumb things with the earlier part of my slide collection. I traded a lot of them away because I thought I had "too many", and this was one of them. I traded or sold a large chunk of my earlier BR&P 4th Sub collection too, a mistake I deeply regret.
N&W 6096 leads two more N&W units on a Westbound D&H train that is crossing the bridge over Canacadea Creek and blasting out of Hornell, NY after getting a crew change on January 27, 1979.
Conrail 6096 is the helper on an Eastbound intermodal train that is climbing the grade to Gulf Summit at Cascade Valley in Windsor, NY on March 4, 1979. It was my first trip to the Lanesboro area. We got this train crossing the viaduct, then got it here before heading back to the D&H and getting a couple trains at Tunnel, NY. Here it is on the viaduct: www.flickr.com/photos/85501582@N03/33451868938/in/album-7...
HL F-35 landing at Mildenhall 23.07.23 enroute to sandy places. Interestingly it's the display jet assigned to Kristen "Beo" Wolfe. Not her flying I assume as she was due to display at Oshkosh the following day,.
