Een half uur nadat Press gefotografeerd was kwam de volgende goederentrein in zicht. De 185 514 en 185 516 waren onderweg met de omgeleide en lege ertstrein 60606 uit Beddingen naar Hamburg Waltershof, en konden onder heerlijke lichtomstandigheden worden vastgelegd bij Linsburg.
Net als een dag eerder werd trein 60606 (Beddingen - Hamburg Hausbruch) gereden door de 185 514 en 185 516. Onder toch wel wat andere lichtomstandigheden passeren de beide locomotieven met hun lege ertstrein bij Linsburg de 4 Nederlanders op 19 april 2023.
Im Frühjahr 2020 wurden für ein paar Wochen die Erzzüge 60606 und 60607 über Verden-Nienburg umgeleitet, da auf der Planroute mal wieder gebaut wurde.
Am Nachmittag des 27.04.2020 ging es daher mal wieder nach Borstel um die beiden Sechsachser der Baureihe 151 zu erwarten.
Zum damaligen Zeitpunkt schien das Ende der Dinos bei der DB ganz nah. Inzwischen werden weitere Loks reaktiviert, sodass der Einsatzbestand gute 40 Loks zählen dürfte.
Zu sehen ist der GM 60606 Beddingen VPS - Hamburg-Hansaport mit 151 113 und 151 094 an der Spitze.
Noch immer sind ein paar Loks der Baureihe 151 für DB Cargo aktiv. Eine recht sichere Leistung ist das tägliche Zugpaar GM 60605/60606. Den ganzen April über wurde der 60606 fast ausnahmslos über Nienburg-Rotenburg umgeleitet, da zwischen Eschede und Unterlüß Gleisbauarbeiten stattfanden und somit nur ein Gleis zur Verfügung stand. Am 26.04.2020 sollte der GM 60606 Beddingen VPS - Hamburg-Hansaport in Linsburg aufgenommen werden, aber dann kam die Meldung: "-75 Hannover Waldheim". Schnell wurde der Plan Linsburg verworfen, da das Licht nicht gut passte. Nach einigem Überlegen ging es auf den letzten Drücker noch an den Nienburger Stadtrand um den Zug dort zu versuchen. Ich musste keine fünf Minuten warten, da tauchte der Leerzug bereits bei mir auf. Zugloks waren an diesem Tag 151 110 und 112, die schon bessere Zeiten gesehen haben. Zu meiner Freude blühte der Ginster schön gelb und entschädigte für die ranzige Lok ;-)
Die Sechsachsigen 151er befinden sich bei der DB weiter auf dem Rückzug. Aktuell werden nur noch acht Loks im System geführt, wovon zwei Loks jedoch seit dem 01.04. in der Werkstatt verweilen und wohl kaum nochmal zu Einsätzen kommen werden. Die restlichen sechs (alle AK) stehen als Reserve für fehlende 189er zwischen Hamburg und Beddingen bereit. Derzeit ist täglich meist ein Pärchen unterwegs, mit Glück auch zwei. Am 22.04.2020 sollte es für den abendlichen GM 60606 Beddingen VPS - Hamburg-Hansaport nach Linsburg gehen, da ein 151er Pärchen geplant war. Aufgrund von Bauarbeiten zwischen Eschede und Unterlüß werden ein paar "Erzbomber" über Seelze - Nienburg - Rotenburg umgeleitet.
Nach einiger Zeit des Wartens kam der Zug dann mit +20 endlich ums Eck. Zu meiner Freude führte die mir noch fehlende 151 094 vor der 116. Im 3. Versuch gab es auch mal keinen "Gegenzugschaden", wenngleich der ICE nur Sekunden später von hinten angeschossen kam.
Die Aufnahme entstand von einem Berg aus Baumstämmen.
Nachdem Ende 2019 die Loks der Baureihe 155 vollständig aus dem Verkehr von Cargo gezogen wurde, blieben noch einige Loks der Baureihe 151 als letzte "E-Saurier" bei DB Cargo im Dienst. Nachdem der Andernacher Coils-Zug die letzte zuverlässige Leistung war, gab es Anfang 2020 nochmal einen Aufschwung im Norden. Die Containerzüge zwischen Bremerhaven und Hamburg wurden nahezu vollständig von 151ern bespannt. Am 06.04.2020 kam dann der große Schock: DB Cargo hatte die Anmietung der meisten 151ern sofort beendet, weshalb der Einsatzbestand auf zehn Loks runter sank (fast alle AK). Die AK-Loks hätten aber auch schon längst ausgedient, wenn es nicht so einen 189er Mangel gäbe.
Aufgrund von umfangreichen Gleisarbeiten im Bereich Eschede werden den gesamten April ein paar Erzzüge über Nienburg-Verden-Rotenburg umgeleitet. Die fotogenen Züge GM 60605 und GM 60607 laufen meisten durch die Baustelle (Regelweg), blöd für den Nienburger... Der Nachmittägliche GM 60606 Beddingen - Hamburg-Hansaport nimmt in letzter Zeit häufiger mal den Weg über Nienburg. Für den langen Zug macht sich die Gerade nördlich Nienburg optimal, wenngleich da kein Frontlicht ist.
Versuch Nummer 1 am 17.04.2020:
Der Zug war leider pünktlich unterwegs und mangels Wolken hätte das Motiv nicht so viel hergegeben. Zu allem Überfluss wurde das 151er Doppel vom Boxx Containerzug vollständig zugefahren...
Versuch Nummer 2 am 18.04.2020:
Der Zug hatte Beddingen mit nur einer Lok mit +50 verlassen, gute Voraussetzungen! Zu unserer Freude kam von Südwest eine beachtliche Wolkenwand, welche perfekt im Bild saß jedoch keine Chance auf einen Wolkenschaden gab. Im 12 Kilometer entfernten Linsburg kam um 18:56 Uhr die Meldung: "151 116 durch!"
Ich schaute meinen Fotokollegen an und sagte: "Scheiße, der ICE aus Hamburg kommt zeitgleich!"
Ein Blick ins RIS zeigte um 18:59 Uhr den RE in Rohrsen und im Block dahinter der ICE 273 mit -2 (!). Ich ahnte ganz schlimmes... Von der Brücke aus, kann man den Zug in etwa 3 Kilometer Entfernung sehen. Der RE kam bei uns durch und war hinten noch nicht verschwunden, da sah ich die 151, au Backe! Wir positionierten uns und mit über 100 Sachen rauschte die 151 hinten an. Doch auch das reichte nicht... Von hinten bremste sich ein ICE 4 ans Halt zeigende Blocksignal heran. Ich fluchte nur noch rum und die 151 heizte weiter heran. Na, klappt es doch noch so halb?! Am Ende passte die gewünschte Auslösung noch, jedoch befanden sich am linken Bildrand 1,5 Wagen des ICE, na klasse...
Da wird einem der Zug doch zwei Tage hintereinander tatsächlich von einem Gegenzug vermasselt. Das Problem mit den Gegenzügen bekam ich an diesem Feld auch nicht das erste Mal zu spüren!
Info zur Bildbearbeitung: Vor lauter Frustration wurde der ICE aus dem linken Bildrand entfernt.
Pünktlich für GM 60606 (Beddingen - Hamburg-Waltershof Hansaport) stand man am Kanalufer zu Peine bereit, um die Passage von 189 029 und 049 mit ihrem "Bomber" abzunehmen.
Bedingt durch Bauarbeiten auf der Strecke zwischen Hannover und Hamburg wurden im April '20 viele Züge über Verden umgeleitet. Zu sehen ist der leere Erzbomber 60606 auf der Fahrt von Beddingen nach Hamburg zum Hansaport.
Die beiden sechsachsigen Schwesterloks beschleunigen den leeren Erzzug als GM 60606 aus Salzgitter Beddingen heraus zum Hamburger Hansaport. 151 103 und 151 112 sind an DB Cargo von Railpool vermietet.

Vanwege de weinige treinen en de opkomende bewolking in het Leinedal besloten we naar Woltorf te rijden. Hier zou het volgens de satelliet beelden een stuk beter moeten zijn. Achteraf niet de beste keuze, hier bleek het nog stiller te zijn. Aan het begin van de avond vonden we het dan ook mooi geweest en werden de spullen ingepakt en koers gezet richting Nederland.
Precies op het moment dat we weg reden kwam er uiteraard een goederentrein in zicht, deze werd dan toch nog even snel bij de overweg op de chip gezet.
De VPS 185 505+185 530 zijn met trein 60606 onderweg van Beddingen naar Hamburg Hausbruch. Toch nog een cargo in de zon hier!
Hierna was het toch echt op naar huis ;-)

Daarna de leger ertstrein. Naast DB cargo rijdt ook de VPS ( lege ) ertstreinen tussen Hamburg en Beddingen.
Aan het einde van de middag komen hier de VPS 185 530 & 516 aangereden met de lege ertstrein en passeren hier Peine en gaan zo verder "omhoog" richting Hamburg.

Daarna kwamen er 2 wel smerige locomotieven aan.
Met de lege ijzerertstrein aan de haak, welke dit keer een Falns achter de loc had, passeert hier het geheel de omgeving van Peine en gaat zo verder richting Lehrte en Hamburg.
Niet bijzonder op deze locatie, maar naar mijn idee wel altijd een foto waard zijn de ertstreinen van VPS. Hier zien we de 185 506+185 511 onderweg van Beddingen naar Hamburg (Waltershof Alte Süderelbe).
DB Cargo rijdt niet alleen ijzerertstreinen vanuit Rotterdam naar Duitsland ( lees Dillingen ), maar ook van Hamburg naar Beddingen.
Zo ook deze donderdag. Net voordat ik aangekomen was in Woltorf, wist een local mij te vertellen dat een tweetal BR 189's voor de trein naar Beddingen zaten en in de middag retour zouden gaan richting Hamburg.
Het is net 16.15 uur geweest, als in de verte de lege ijzerertstrein aan komt rijden.
De 2 voor ons overbekende Nederlandse BR 189's van DB Cargo, trekken hier de lege ijzerertstrein 60606 uit Beddingen en passeren hier de bocht bij Woltorf en zijn onderweg naar Hamburg Waltershof Alte Süderelbe en hebben nog wel een reisje voor de boeg.
The friendliest Chicago CTA train station in Chicago. That's the award that the Quincy loop station got tonight as I was photographing. I had a total of five different groups of people talk to me while I was photographing.
Tripod set up, I shoot long exposures. Lots of long exposures, about 111 that night. Normally people don't approach me all that much. Maybe one person a night, if that. But while shooting at Quincy, it was, "let's talk to the photographer night." Which is fine with me. I like company while shooting.
First guy was the normal security guard asking me what I was doing. The past couple weeks all the security guards have asked me the same question, "are you working with a company?" There must be some security newsletter that is telling them to ask this. But he was friendly and nice.
Second guy was an older dude. He asked what I was doing. I explained to him I'm photographing all the loop stations at dusk to capture all the range of colors. He was convinced that I work for the CTA, because he couldn't understand that I would just do this on my own. Kinda funny.
Third was a group of tourists asking how to get to Willis Tower, which is just one block away. I got a kick out how how they correctly called it Willis Tower instead of Sears Tower.
Fourth was an interesting one. I was shooting the staircases, and this car pulls up with its headlights right next to the stairs. I waited it out thinking that he was picking someone up. I didn't actually mind, because part of the aesthetics of these photos are all the different types of lights and colors of lights. His car just gave an additional set of lights. Plus, I like how headlights illuminate the street. I was just trying to avoid moving cars, so i wouldn't have the horizontal lines.
I finished up that particular angle and moved down a side street to get a better angle of the stationhouse. It was a quiet side street (for the loop), so I just set up right in the middle of the street. While I'm shooting, the same car comes down the street. I move my tripod and the car pulls up next to me. Ends up he was a wedding photographer. So it was cool to share photo experiences with him. I gave him my flickr address, so Rick if you are reading this, HI!
Fifth person approached me when I was on the stairs shooting. She asked for directions to Union Station (just a few blocks away).
Therefore, Quincy wins the award for friendliest CTA train station in Chicago for that night.
Now for this photo. There are several things I like about this photo:
-- Three staircases are featured
-- The purple light on top of the stairs roof
-- The green light on the stairs
-- The roadblock pillars give a nice rhythm leading into the stairs, and flowing around to the right of the stairs.
-- The light blue sky
-- The sewer cap at the bottom of the photo
-- The structure of the L

Hello, World! It was raining for 6 days straight up to this morning. Thank God, we're okay despite the recent heavy rains, though most parts of the Ilocos Region in the Philippines were affected by flash floods and landslides; the southernmost part of Ilocos -- Pangasinan -- most especially, by heavy flooding, as water was released from the dams.
No internet connection for a day. Too bad, I missed your photos.... and I don't have anything new. I found this from my old US trip photos. I hope it's not that bad.

Willis Tower, formerly named Sears Tower, is a 108-story 1,450 feet (442 m) skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. At the time of its completion in 1973 it was the tallest building in the world, surpassing the World Trade Center towers in New York. Currently, Willis Tower is the tallest building in the United States and the fifth-tallest freestanding structure in the world.
Although Sears' naming rights expired in 2003, the building continued to be called Sears Tower for several years. However, in March 2009 London-based insurance broker Willis Group Holdings, Ltd., agreed to lease a portion of the building and as part of the agreement obtained the building's naming rights. On July 16, 2009, at 10:00 am Central Time, the building was officially renamed Willis Tower.
The Sears Tower Skydeck observation deck opened on June 22, 1974 and is located on the 103rd floor of the tower. It is 1,353 feet (412 m) above ground and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Chicago. Tourists can experience how the building sways on a windy day. They can see far over the plains of Illinois and across Lake Michigan to Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin on a clear day. It takes about 60 seconds to soar to the top in either of two special, Schindler Group elevators.
A second Skydeck on the 99th floor is used when the 103rd floor is closed.

Don't forget, this tower is so incredibly tall, that a shot like this is possible. To be able to see eye-to-eye with this giant, this was photographed on top of America's fourth tallest building, the AON Center. Even then, the Sears Tower is still 100 meters taller than the AON Center. You are the skyscraper King, Sir Sears.

The Franklin was designed by Adrian D. Smith in a post-modern style, lacking all originality the Sears oozes.
Shot on the corner of South Franklin street & West Adams street.
The angle plays somewhat of a trick on viewers, since the Sears is some 3x taller than The Franklin at only 164m at its top.

VPS 185 512 + 185 522 in Hamburg-Harburg with empty iron ore train 60606 (Beddingen VPS (Salzgitter) to Hamburg-Waltershof Hansaport), consisting of innofreight, Salzgitter AG and DB branded D-DB Sggmmrrs wagons, most of them red, but a few in blue on November 27, 2025, 12:46. The train was waiting to continue to Hansaport for quite some time, but finally continued at 13:28.
