I snapped this recently on one of my cloud chasing adventures. I managed to get some shots just before the skies opened up on me. I was actually shooting upward as the raindrops began hitting my face. Fun!!

This was snapped about a month go. There is a house in Sebastopol that has the most beautiful tree lined driveway, surrounded by vineyards. Each fall these fabulous trees and the vineyards put on quite a colorful show. A couple of weeks after this was shot, all the leaves turned a gorgeous bright red. About 10 days ago most of the leaves had fallen. The past several years the drought has caused the leaves to be less than vibrant. But with the rains we have had, our fall colors are once again pretty spectacular. While most of the country is long past their peak season, most of our trees are just now peaking.

On a recent trip out to the coast...
I have been wanting to snap some pics of the Pampas Grass while it is in full bloom, but most of it is just off the road with nowhere to safely stop to shoot any decent photos. Lucky for me there was one little spot where I was able to pull over and park. The sun was trying to peek through the fog which gave this a rather cool effect.

The clouds out at the coast on this particular day were just dreamy. I spent some time feeding a flock of seagulls and trying to get some close up shots...with limited luck. The best shot turned out to be this one, with a lone gull heading out to sea.

Half a dozen RR buses have been stationed at BX now as RR are suffering severely with driver shortages alongside staff sadly losing their life. E55/6 were originally BX vehicles and E70/2 were AL ones. These as quite evident were covering the peak trips on the 5, being laid over in BX for the meantime. E65 is another at BX being on the 101 which BX is covering full duties for.
I know this flag looks tiny, but it is mighty. I was out chasing clouds on Monday and spotted Old Gory from afar. I have actually passed by it in the past, but never stopped to snap a pic. This tree and the flag that flies from it are actually quite large. You can't tell from the picture, but the tree must be at least 50 feet tall. I couldn't figure how to get closer to it...no road nearby that I could find. So I went down a dead end road and shot through these two trees, which I think looks kinda cool framing the flag and clouds.
Today we honor all veterans for their service to our nation. Thank you to all who have given so much so that we can live free here in America. I salute each and every one of you.

I first saw this yummy forest green Chevy truck in the morning but wasn't able to take any pictures because I was working at the time. I was just sick about it. As luck would have it, I was fortunate to be able to return to the scene of the crime...and there she was, still parked in the exact same spot. Even better, it had rained a bit during the four hours since I had first seen her, so she was dressed in delicious raindrops. Lucky me! :-)

One of my favorite places to shop has this GINORMOUS pumpkin on display. I couldn't resist snapping some closeup pics of this beautiful monster...it looks like the surface of Mars!

A shot from this past Spring, when the hills were lush and green. They are now dry as a bone...something I have always disliked about Summer. But then I moved to Oklahoma, where there were NO hills. I swore, after having lived in such a flat place, that I would NEVER complain about the dried up hills again. Now, I try to refer to them as being "golden"...you know, that glass being half full thing. ;-) But oh, how I miss the beautiful emerald countryside in Spring.

This is actually a very large metal sculpture that stands outside one of the many wineries in the famed Napa Valley of Northern California. I had wanted to snap some pics of this beauty for a while. Finally, one day while I was out that way, some nice cloudage gave the seemingly flying rabbit a rather nice background.
Happy Easter, my flickr peeps!

We have been enjoying some pretty spectacular sunsets as of late. Here's one from last week. I wanted to see what my little phone would do if I shot directly into the sun. This was the result.

I saw this beauty as I was cruising through the tiny town of Bolinas recently. I almost didn't stop because the truck was in someone's yard and I didn't want to get caught snapping pics. After driving by and heading down the road, something told me to turn around and go back. SO glad I did!

Snapped while out having breakfast with a friend at a local restaurant. This beautiful piece of artwork was hanging on the wall right in front of me, so, of course, I just HAD to take a picture! :-)

Back in November when the vineyard colors were at their peak and the clouds were at their puffiest! For those of you who enjoy a glass (or bottle!) of the bubbly, these are the champagne vineyards of Korbel in the beautiful Russian River area of Sonoma County, California.

This is one of the first pictures I took with the iPhone 5s, just about a year ago. The mustard is in full bloom again just as it was last year around this time. Even though it's winter, we have been having beautiful spring like weather (my apologies to everyone experiencing the bitter cold). I wish you all warm sunny days ahead!
Happy Fence Friday, y'all!
