This 'Star Cruller' is very much related to the 'Twinkle Cruller' (see first comment box), just a few creases are different.
On the left you see the 5 unit version and on the right a variation with 7 units. As mentioned before the more units assembled, the more the model looks like a star . I like a 7 pointed star ;-))
Have a nice Thursday
Paper:
Both stars are folded from a square piece of double side colored Freudenberg paper 11,5x11,5cm.
Final size:
- 5unit Star: diameter 12xm, height 2cm
- 7unit Star: diameter 14cm, height 0,5cm
Model : Origami 'Star Cruller' and variation

This lovely origami model is called "Rain Star" or in Spanish "Estrella de la Lluvia", because when it was created by Aldo Marcell it was raining ;-)
I wanted to see what the difference is when I changed the color, so that's why you see 2 variations, I like them both....which one has your preference?
I put them on a mirror so you can see at the same time the other site.

There is a video tutorial by Evan Zodl, if you want to fold it too ;-)

Topcor-S 5cm f1.8 is quite rare lens. F2 version was the standard lens for Lotax cameras in early fifties. I need to repare this one as few small screws are missing or broken and it is stuck wide open (luckily). As all Tokyo Kogaku lenses it is very fine piece of engineering and is pleasure to use it..
Leotax Leonon-S 5cm f2 modified.
Leonon lens is one of those that create bokeh that could not be missed or ignored. Some, like me, love it, other, like gear reviewers, see it as grave default. It produces rich, wild and swirly bokeh somehow similar to Biotar and Helioses.
So, I tried the same hack as the one often done with Helios-44, I inverted the first element of the lens. Mechanically, it did not work well. Contrary to Helios, with Leonon I could not attach the lens back and keep it permanently converted. The result is what I expected. The subject in the focus stays in focus, Very light flowers becomes noticeably soft and glowy. The bokeh is just perfectly broken.

I have a new toy , a very early Helios-40 8,5cm f1,5 silver with magenta coating. It's not very sharp but wide open it produces heavenly bokeh and it flares like hell.
So i'm a lucky man.
