Lots of excitement at the pond this morning - once the Hooded Merganser pulls up a crayfish from the bottom, he's still got to keep it from his opportunistic compatriots. Not so much shaking off those legs one at a time today - it was more of an eat-and-run, or run-and-eat morning. Worked for me, especially if they came my direction.

Bit of an experiment today, using my fixed 35mm at f/1.8 only. Trying to get the feel of the bokeh at various F-stops,
Coal for Avon Lake now appears to be handled by BNSF from the Powder River mines. Here, BNSF 5755 sits on the rear of what would become NS 566 at the interchange point of Western Avenue Yard in Chicago. Upon receiving the train, NS would have the DPU cut from the consist.
