Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 30/07/2022 - Tunnels .
Well I have seen and been in some tunnels in my time , but those days are long gone . From visits into old Cornish Tin/Copper mines , up into a London Underground tunnel and weeks down the old Bathstone Mines underground in the Corsham area - but no access to places like that anymore ! So it will have to be a simple railway tunnel at Bookham station , it is a very short tunnel on a curve so I positioned myself to one side to hide the far entrance and waited for a train to arrive ( I had found out the timings and was prepared at the right time ) and captured the train while it was still coming through the tunnel .
The light at the far end has created some strange reflections on the side of the carriages which is a bonus - I had seen this effect on another flickr capture and was glad to have recreated it .
Above the tunnel is one entrance to Bookham Common and the car park there is actually called " Tunnel Car Park " .
In the first comment box is an old shot taken at Levant Mine in Kernow .
In the second comment box there is a shot of the train in the tunnel going off into an alternative universe .
