'57 Chevy Belair
Walked through a carshow last week and this car struck me funny.
When I was a teen, my new boyfriend at the time asked me, 'what kind of car should I get'? I responded, 'a '56 Chev'. My choice of car was influenced by hanging around with my slightly older cousin. Her boyfriend and their friends were all into the tri year Chevys. Two days later, very much to my mom's chagrin, a car like the one featured here, pulled into my parents carport and proceeded to pull a wicked brake stand, the tires were just-a-spinning, so much so that the carport was fully engulfed with tire smoke. As this smoke show continued not only could you not see the carport, but the smoke was so thick, you could not see the yard as well. My mom ran out on the back porch and was ripping in the bed sheets that were hanging on the clothes line. When the smoke settled, I caught my first glimpse of the canary coloured Chevy. My mom was as mad as a red hen and later that evening, my dad gave me a metal spatula to scrap the rubber( from the earlier molten tires) off the white picket fence. lol

Evening all.
My knee seems to be getting a bit better and my new camera has been burning a hole in its bag. After watching United win the cup on TV and a lovely home made lasagna I decided I needed to get out into the night.
This spot has been on my to do list for ages, admittedly would be better in spring/summer as the branches are so bare but it's not that far from home and it's about 1 minutes walk from the car park.
I removed pretty much everything from the camera bag barring my camera, a lens, one torch, headtorch, my BLS and got gone.
One function which is an absolute bonus is a sort of night vision. At the press of a button even with the dimmest of lights live view is lit up like the sun is out. Super useful for composition and framing.
Half an hour of walking to and from the camera scanning as I went I got on my toes back home for a cheeky brew and some Sunday night TV.
Happy days.

Amtrak's southbound Vermonter passes some peak foliage near Macktown Rd. in Windsor, CT. Because of a drought which lasted all summer the foliage was predicted to be a "brownout", but it is nice to see the predictions were wrong.
