A pair of NS ACU's drift downhill into Wooster on an unusual grain train routed via the Fort Wayne Line on April 27, 2020.

Over the Nickel Plate is westbound NS 55K with the Wabash Heritage Unit on the point.

This is my ride when I am not driving the F350 Dually I like that it is a retractable hardtop instead of the conventional convertible top. It just turned 55K miles, so it has lots of life left. I had driven to this lake to see if I could get some bird photos. As I was walking back to where I parked the car, I realized that I had a nice background for a car photo.

NS 8102 leads 55K, empty grain train, over the drawbridge onto Chicago Line main 1 on a hot last day of June. Thanks to Sham and TC for the timely updates.

NS 55K with a yard crew on board is rolling past the former depot at the museum in Sylvania on their way up the Clinton Industrial to Ottawa Lake, MI. At one time this was the LS&MS mainline to Chicago but now it's a dead end NS branch that only serves a large elevator. Sylvania, OH 4/6/2023

At Frank Lake in southern Alberta. Tracked through a little more than a kilometre of snow to see the birds on the open water at Frank Lake (about 55k south Calgary) . Very rewarding! hopefully well be seeing them all in northern Alberta soon.

There was no way i'd walk past this spot without a shot, incredible! Credits to the kind owner as well. First time i've spotted a MK2 Civic, its soo original aswell and plus in a lovely 70's/80's shade of brown!

It's only done 55k miles.

Early 90s Fiesta seen in the Sutton ares, still MOT'd and taxed having done 55k miles.

Seemed somewhat appropriate to see this one in Essex, on a local plate too. Just 55k miles on the clock at its last MoT, and it's not going up very much each year.

A dirty looking Wabash heritage unit heads up 55K, loaded grain from RJ Corman at Portage, under the Summerhill signal bridge on its trip west on the Pitt Line.

Early 90s Rover Metro that is taxed to early 2024 having done 55k miles.

An excellent localish spot, rare early 80s 505 GTi that looked in excellent condition, with an MOT its done 55k miles.

I think I have one other shot of a lightning bolt in front of a haboob in my 7-8 years of chasing storms in Arizona, but this one is my favorite by a longshot!

Two days ago we started near Florence, but drove south to the town of Picacho to watch some severe storms toss out strong dusty outflows. Things escalated quickly and suddenly we were behind everything, so the only option I saw was to get west on I-8 to blast in front of the outflow/wall of dust to see how things looked. Models hinted at a big evening along that interstate, so I banked on it.

We were treated to a haboob from Vekol Road to Gila Bend and about 50 miles west of there where we finally gave up the chase. Storms exploded along the boundary the entire way, with 55k ft tops here and there. The wall of dust was amazing, and right after Gila Bend it turned ominous and the structure of the clouds over it took on supercell characteristics.

This was kind of dream photo here...I raced over to this spot after seeing one other strike out in front, and so I set it up and went back to my other time-lapse camera and BOOM this bolt came out of the sky. So stoked to get this, especially because usually the lightning is well behind the outflow edge.

Great chase day!

Early 90s 216 seen in Enfield, i've only ever seen one other in this colour scheme which looks great, this one has an MOT and has done 55k miles.

One of my favorite chases of the year was September 7th where I gambled on the hope storms were going to explode SW of Gila Bend and make their way towards Yuma. I got in front of a building line here in Tacna and stood there just soaking up this beautiful storm that was exploding right before my eyes. The center would tower up over 55k feet and eventually drop a powerful microburst and I'd be slammed with dust and strong winds 40 minutes after I took this image.

I moved SW eventually and caught some great lightning strikes and made it into California later and even snapped a couple bolts over the dunes. Such a great day!

Seen in SW London, presumably an import as i've never seen one of these before so not sure if they were sold here or where just unpopular. This one is still taxed and MOT'd having done 55k miles.

UP 9098 leads NS 55K on 5 West in Cresson, as the train sits crewless. Once a crew was to be called, the power would have to be spun because of the lack of PTC and Cab Signals on the foreign power engine. Seen from the route 22 bridge in Cresson, PA.

NS 55K, making an unexpected run west across the Fort Wayne Line, heads west through CP MANS in Mansfield, Ohio, in the last light of Sept. 27, 2020. The remains of part of the former Westinghouse plant stand tall in the background. Ideally, they would have been running west on track 2, but NS is working hard to legitimize the removal of the second main on the majority of the line, so the 55K ran west on track 1 all the way from Alliance to Colsan.

After being added to the head end of NS 55K at Cresson, the Reading heritage unit brings the train west over the crossing at Gray Station, PA. This unit, like most of the other heritage units, is looking pretty rough these days.

I took a pic of this last week, but it wasn't a great pic, i was going past the same spot so i took a better pic! Its done 55k miles.

*A photo dump of images saved over the past year, mostly lifted from social media - this image is not my own.*

A very tidy example, circa 55k miles and one-owner-from-new until recently. Having sold last year on eBay, it cropped up again and sold for £1,750 on eBay last week. It's been MoT'd with rust-related advisories, it was never re-taxed so I assume driven around on trade plates.

RJC takes 55K up toward Clearfield from Cresson, sporting a 3 pack of SD40-2s up front. Fall foliage is really starting to hit in the central part of PA, and it's looking to be great conditions to shoot!

This old church was on the market for 55K a few years back. Spectacularly-sited on hill-top above Loch Ailort. I think someone intends to convert it into a house. What a view.

Pennsy on the Pennsy "!"

I've very briefly spoken to the owner of this, a very old and paranoid seeming man who didn't want anyone taking photos of his cars (he asked me many times if I'd taken one, luckily I didn't have my camera with me at the time).

Thankfully, the tax disc was still in place, so I got the reg; GPP 55K. Untaxed since 1992! I think it's been under a cover and recently been unearthed for all those years, but the owner has censored their house on every single year the Street View car has gone by (an almost admirable amount of dedication to satiating paranoia), so I can't tell.

Westbound empty grain 55K waits for 12V to clear the end of two main tracks at CP-Mace.

A NS 55K empty grain train with a NS B46 local crew on board is rolling through the University of Toledo's main campus. The Glass Bowl Stadium can be seen just above the train along with the tower of University Hall in the background. The UT shield decorates the ground in the foreground just in from the Dorr Street entrance to the campus. Toledo, OH 2/11/2023

We took a trip this past weekend, over to Squamish BC. I'd not been, and so it was a nice little adventure, a chance to see some new spots of wilderness. It's a gorgeous area, roughly 55k north of Vancouver along the Sea-To-Sky highway. If we'd have continued on, Whistler would have greeted us before long.

We spent a little time hiking, although heavier-than-normal snowfalls coupled with a recent melt left most of the trails covered in terrible ice. Not just a skiff here or there, but glare ice from one end to the next. Still beautiful though!

I can't say iv'e ever seen one of these later saloon versions before, this one looked tidy and has done 55k miles

A surprise found down a fairly new new-build estate, this Cavalier is on SORN and has no MOT history.

Current owner since 1999, and of the once 55k or so SRIs, around 50 remain on the road, 8 of which are from 1991.

This photo kindly taken by my daughter, but quite by chance I saw it elsewhere the same day and I am happy to confirm that it has the early-type grille.

Relatively low mileage, as expected for it to be in this condition - 55k at its last MoT.

A duo of AC44C6M locomotives brings NS 55K, an empty train of grain hoppers, around the curve at MP 300 in Torrance, PA.

Not a car i've spotted before, so was quite interesting. I believe they were sold here, with this one being registered from new.

This one has only done 55k miles.

A humble Escort Bonus special edition.

Proudly displaying exciting features such as 'tippex' wheeltrims, solid plastic headrests and special edition graphics. Rarer than the preserved sporting variants, this low-spec Escort was owned by retiree before being hoarded in a barn. Completely immaculate with a genuine 55k on the clock, the enthusiast owner of this told me his nostalgia with the Escort Bonus lay with the fact he never knew anyone to own RS Turbos, XR3is etc back when they were current but knew many who owned Escort Ls, GLs and the like.

An empty grain train (55K) for Ottawa Lake, MI, is seen passing through the University of Toledo campus on the NS Clinton Industrial. It's being operated with a B46 local crew which will tie the train down compass west of campus.

This was in amazing condition. Just under 55k at its last MOT in September.

First time I've seen one of these close up; I think all my previous Kizashi sightings have been while on the move. I thought the price looked quite sensible on this (it's done 55k).

55K spits the station platforms in Latrobe on a hot August day in 2017. For whatever reason, the power was never wyed, making the UP 8122 lead the train from Cresson to Conway. For the life of me, why i chose not to shoot this train passing pennsy signals is beyond me. Alas, shooting any kind of foreign power leading in cab signaled territory is worthy of a photo, no matter the location.

The Wabash heritage unit brings NS 55K, a westbound empty grain train, out of the Packsaddle Gap on a bright July afternoon.

Looked like a remarkably tidy example finished in a good colour, the low mileage of 55k as of July and recent owner change makes me think this has had a long term owner previously.

Seen in the backstreets of the Shepherds Bush area, a proper London banger that it taxed and MOT'd well into 2024, its done 55k miles too.
