(Wikipedia)

A curious onlooker asked me why I took this photo at an angle. I replied... "Because I can capture the bee clearly!" (meaning... the bee can stand out!)

‘Reimaginings’ are square-cropped images taken of marks, weathered paint, and rust seen by me in the urban environment which appeal to me as abstract shapes and forms.

Some of these photographs are fragments of faded and much repainted and over-painted graffiti surfaces, paint spills and general weathering.

I have the impression that all the inhabitants of Genoa drive motorcycles and scooters.

A little break from my usual shots :)

Under one of the best skies I have seen, I had to find quickly something colorful to contrast it. In the narrow streets of Chioggia, I found this scene to be funny enough to be posted !

Ok so I went all silly at the beginning of this month and splashed (grin) out on a lovely shiny new Canon EOS 550D (Rebel T2i).. Ooh it's lovely, 18.7 megapixels and HD Video. Now I just have to sell my 450D to help pay for it!

I just had to take some splashes with it.. This one is pretty much straight out of camera, no changes, just converted the RAW, small amount of sharpening and a tweak to the levels to get the colours back a bit.

Strobist Info : Canon Speedlite 580EX-II with light blue gel firing from about 40cm up down at 45 degrees. 430 EX-II below it firing directly into the back of the splash with a frosted perspex diffuser about 30cm in front of them. (All behind the splash).

Mathematics is known to marry nature through Fibonacci series converging into the golden ratio. This is my attempt to freeze such a marriage, happening at a really fast pace. It's a tennis ball soaked in water and thereafter spun. The Fibonacci spiral follows.

This was one of the 200 shots taken from a moving bus somewhere between Kampar and Rawang @ 6.50pm on 17-Oct-2010. The bus journey from Penang back to Kuala Lumpur took about 4.5 hours with a 25 minutes break somewhere near Ipoh.

Yes... I know, an old-fashion landscape silhouette photo of a sunset. Not much special effect but I sort of like the colours and the tall tree as anchor with the setting sun, partially covered by a tree, at the tip of the horizon.
