Shelduck
Scientific name: Tadorna tadorna
One of our largest ducks, the shelduck is a handsome creature with a dark green head, red bill and chestnut-brown band across its white body. Look out for it around most of our coastline, particularly in winter.

Me, along with a model who doesn't mind the cold at all... though she probably wouldn't do so well on a hot day. :-P
My wife and I chose the Trillium Lake trail in the Mt. Hood Natl Forest for our little snowshoe outing on the second weekend of the new year. Intermittent snow showers kept the trees nicely flocked with fresh snow and we enjoyed our time in the winter wonderland. My old point and shoot camera worked well under the cold conditions and will accompany me on future showshoe outings too.
Deze bijzonder geplakte loc leek volledig in een fotowolk te gaan passeren. We stonden dan ook niet op de juiste plek voor een foto terwijl opeens uit het niets er weer zon kwam. Snel werd met enige zoom nog een acceptabele foto gemaakt.
We were hoping they would blast though the snowbank here but they picked up the conductor and crawled though the drift at less than 5.
