Brown Pelicans cruise low over the water, but dive into the water for food. They create quite a striking image, like the one in this picture, when diving for fish.
They are very large birds, with a 7'6" (2.3m) wingspan, and a length of 45-54 inches (1.1-1.4m). The picture looks best in large size.

Black tailed Godwit - Limosa Limosa
These large wading birds are a Schedule 1 species. In summer, they have bright orangey-brown chests and bellies, but in winter they're more greyish-brown.
Their most distinctive features are their long beaks and legs, and the black and white stripes on their wings. Female black-tailed godwits are bigger and heavier than the males, with a noticeably longer beak (which helps the sexes to avoid competing for food with each other).
They're very similar to bar-tailed godwits, which breed in the Arctic. Black-tailed godwits have longer legs, and bar-tailed godwits don't have striped wings. As the names suggest, the tail patterns are different, too.
Black-tailed godwits are much more likely to be found on inland wetlands than the more coastal bar-tailed godwit. They migrate in flocks to western Europe, Africa, south Asia and Australia. Although this species occurs in Ireland and Great Britain all year-round, they are not the same birds. The breeding birds depart in autumn, but are replaced in winter by the larger Icelandic race. These birds occasionally appear in the Aleutian Islands and, rarely, on the Atlantic coast of North America.
There is an estimated global population of between 634,000 and 805,000 birds and estimated range of 7,180,000 square kilometres (2,770,000 sq mi). In 2006 BirdLife International classified this species as Near Threatened due to a decline in numbers of around 25% in the previous 15 years. It is also among the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) applies.
In Europe, black-tailed godwits are only hunted in France, with the annual total killed estimated at 6,000 to 8,000 birds. This puts additional pressure on the western European population, and the European Commission has a management plan in place for the species in its member states.
In England, black-tailed godwits were formerly much prized for the table. Sir Thomas Browne (1605–1682) said: "[Godwits] were accounted the daintiest dish in England and I think, for the bignesse, of the biggest price."

Am Morgen des 17. Juli 2020 konnte ich meinen ersten METRANS Vectron vor einem Containerzug bei Licht fotografieren. Bis zu dem Tag hatte ich nur eine der silberne 383er bei Grauwetter spontan auf der eingleisig Verbindungsstrecke von Hamburg-Hausbruch nach Hohe Schaar aufnehmen können. Nicht dass ich vorher schon mal die Chance gehabt hätte. Allerdings hatte ich bei den beiden anvisierten Zügen dann etwas Pech. Einmal wurde mir in HH-Veddel der METRANS-Zug von einer S-Bahn zugefahren und beim letzten Besuch der Ost-West-Strecke bei Woltorf rollte einer an mir während eines Stellenwechsels vorbei. Mit 383 404 konnte ich in Maschen mit Blick auf das Stellwerk Mswf den ersten MTR Vectron in meine Sammlung aufnehmen. Nach den 386er gibt es auch bei der 383er das gleiche Phänomen zu beobachten. Wenn das Licht nicht perfekt steht und der Winkel 45 Grad oder kleiner zur Gleisachse ist, dann wird die Seite arg dunkel. Der blaue Schriftzug auf dunkelgrauem Untergrund trägt auch nicht dazu bei, dass die Seitenfläche unbedingt besser wirkt bzw. im Vergleich zur Front dunkler ist. Und die Kurvenüberhöhung in der Innenkurve begünstigt das Lichtverhältnis auch nicht gerade...
Op 11-4-2025 ging mat'54 4 766 naar Maastricht voor onderhoud.
Het stel had al meer dan 1 jaar niet meer gereden. We waren er actief achteraan . Na de klik bij de Rijnbrug met werd er stevig naar Klein Koolwijk gereden moest volgens google maps net te halen zijn. Alleen was er geen tijd meer om het hoogstatief op te bouwen. Maar het toeval wilde toen we daar aankwamen dat er een graaf machine stond opgesteld bij de overweg op de goede plek en werd daarin geklommen. Als trein 70454 van Arnhem naar Maastricht passeerde het stel Klein Koolwijk.

The 3⁄4‑ton WC-54 was designed as successor to the previous 1/2-ton, 4×4, G-505 models WC-9, WC-18, and WC-27 Dodge Ambulance trucks. Although based on the 3/4-ton Dodge "Beep" chassis, which front and rear axles featured wider tracks of 64+3⁄4 in (1.64 m), the 3/4-ton ambulance versions retained a longer wheelbase, very close to that of the previous half-tonners, as well as somewhat rounded, upward sloping nose sheetmetal, instead of the fully horizontal, flat and wider engine-cover of the main 3⁄4‑ton redesigned WC-models. The WC-54s also had adjusted suspension to make their ride softer.
The WC-53 had space for the driver and four to seven patients plus a medic. The four fold-away bunk stretchers allowed for carry of four litter patients while three (or four) ambulatory patients, plus a medic could squeeze in to the floor area. Because of its intended role, the WC-54 featured a large matrix cab heater fitted on the inner firewall, providing comfort for patients and crew. It was fitted with a foldaway step to its rear to allow easier access for stretcher bearers and injured personnel.

Maar in de NS tijd had ik de mat`54 766 27 jaar eerder ook in Zevenaar. De toen NS mat`766 staat als spitstrein 17724 klaar in Zevenaar op 21-12-1995 om naar Arnhem te vertrekken een week of 3 later was het over met de hondekoppen bij NS in de gewone dienst .

Der See ist 1,1 km lang und 0,54 km breit. Er teilt sich in zwei Teile, den Oberen und den Unteren Katzensee. Beide Seen werden oft auch gemeinsam als Katzenseen bezeichnet. In der Nähe, unmittelbar an die Autobahn Zürich-Nordring angrenzend, liegt der kleinere Büsisee, wobei das schweizerdeutsche Wort Büsi ebenfalls Katze bedeutet.
Der Katzensee wird nach zwei Seiten entwässert. Nach Osten verläuft der Katzenbach die ersten 200 Meter unterirdisch. Er mündet auf dem Gebiet der Stadt Zürich in den Leutschenbach und dieser in die Glatt. Nach Westen fliesst der Furtbach. Er mündet bei Würenlos in die Limmat. Der Katzensee hat keinen oberirdischen Zufluss. Quelle Wikipedia

Epic Hotel is an urban hotel and residential skyscraper in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. Epic is 601 feet (183 m) tall and has 54 floors. The tower is located on the north bank of the Miami River in Downtown Miami's Central Business District. Epic was part of the EPIC Miami Residences and Hotel two-tower residential complex, consisting of the Epic Tower and the Dupont Tower, but the taller of the two, Dupont Tower, was canceled. If it had been built, the Dupont Tower would have stood 609 ft (186 m) tall and contain 60 floors. The Dupont Tower was named after the Alfred I. DuPont Building, a National Historic Building from the 1930s that is also in Miami. In 2014, the 1.25-acre (0.51-hectare) Epic 2 site sold for US$125 million, a record-breaking rate of $100 million per acre.
