Amtrak P051 heads through Lafayette Junction with the Monon sub favorite Dash 8 #517 taking the point of the Beech Grove move at the head end to Chicago (8/22/24).
IHB 517, the Riverdale-Barr transfer has just made the switch onto the CSX Chicago Heights Sub at CP Harvey, and is creeping their way north at a steady 5 miles per. They will make a righthand turn at the wye shown and complete the horseshoe/bracket/u/whatever you want to call it shape they use to get over the mile distance between the two yards. We happened to luck out stumbling upon this guy - quite heavy spring showers and subsequent mood, and finding the Harbor's own power on this train (as opposed to CSX motors) isn't terribly common either! GP40-2 4017 leads, followed by another 40, an SW1500 and a slug 4th out.
Looked around quite a bit for something to fit this mood, any Tool fans out there?
