Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja, Segovia.
La Real Fábrica de Vidrios y Cristales de La Granja fue una manufactura real construida en el Real Sitio de San Ildefonso (en la actual provincia de Segovia) en el siglo XVIII.
El Museo del Vidrio situado en La Granja de San Ildefonso ofrece en más de 16.000m² diversas exposiciones que permiten contemplar piezas, lámparas, moldes y numeroso instrumental y maquinaria empleados en la industria vidriera, componiendo una gran muestra atractiva y didáctica de los fabricados del vidrio y de sus aspectos científicos y técnicos.
El Museo se aloja en la antigua Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja, un enorme rectángulo que aloja en su interior un conjunto de edificaciones que suman en total cerca de 25.000 m² de superficie construida (parte de estos edificios alojan un Instituto de Educación Secundaria).
Esta fábrica fue edificada según los planos Joseph Díaz, alias Gamones, entre 1770 y 1784, y se ubicó en las afueras del Real Sitio, previniendo el temor a que pudiera originarse algún incendio.
The Royal Glass and Crystal Factory of La Granja was a real factory built in the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso (in the present province of Segovia) in the eighteenth century.
The Glass Museum located in La Granja de San Ildefonso offers in more than 16.000m² different exhibitions that allow to contemplate pieces, lamps, molds and numerous instrumental and machinery used in the glass industry, composing a great attractive and didactic sample of those made of glass And its scientific and technical aspects.
The Museum is housed in the former Royal Glass Factory of La Granja, a huge rectangle that houses a set of buildings that total in total about 25,000 m² of built surface (part of these buildings host an Institute of Secondary Education) .
This factory was built according to the plans Joseph Diaz, alias Gamones, between 1770 and 1784, and was located in the outskirts of the Real Site, preventing the fear that a fire could originate.
