The Px48-1920 steam locomotive was built in 1955, two years before the production of the "syrena" cars started.
The Kigu powder compact and Stratton lipstick holder date from the 1950s and so does the butterfly brooch. It's made of plastic, so not exactly high end. The postcard underneath everything was sent from Italy to someone in London, also in the 1950s. The black glasses in the background aren't real (they're plastic), but I remember thinking they might come in handy one day for a '1950s' image. :)

Taken at County Park Lake in Jefferson City Missouri. This is an extreme view as I don't do so well with HDR processing. I like how it looks though. Ha, just noticed that after all that work in post processing, I never straightened the horizon. . . . doh!

Pictured me and my girlfriend photo taken with a tripod with a timer trigger, unfortunate though they are recent downpours for pictures rained for 5 minutes and by another 2 hour of nothing, nikon d700 and 2 lamps elichrome Skyport radio trigger,
for us is metz flash set to 1/4 power so nicely draws a silhouette, I keep an umbrella in the middle of a plain wire strapped metz flash set at 1/8 power, light scattering has provided a simple storefront giveaway, the effect of such spontaneous pictures you can see above.

These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external harddrive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.

Nostalgic microphone based on a 1950s Shure design.
The 50s were a time of postwar austerity, rationing, bad films and even worse TV.
Central heating wasn’t generally installed in the majority of houses, toilets were outside and freezing...however the double yellow line hadn’t been invented, publicans would say ‘one for the road sir’, bobbies were on the beat, the birch and the death penalty were used to keep the population in check and National Service was still around.

Basically... I found the black feather thing in a store for a quarter and thought "cool...what can I do with this?"
If only I had a studio with incredible equipment...
Maybe then I'd be more inclined to actually learn about light setups and the like.
These photos were the result of a "field trip" to my photography professor's studio.
Picnic in the City

This creation is a vintage scene of a picnic in the city. Detailed basket and goodies, and a Roberts ‘50s retro radio playing Elvis. It includes a small replica of a proportionate bicycle, 1936-1937 LaFrance Super-Streamline – Huffman Built. This 1930’s art-deco bicycle was a top-of-the-line model even though it did not feature a tank. The seat is a “tornado spring saddle” in leather orange-brown; the bicycle in a sand green depicts the elegant styling of the 1930s. Some differences between this replica and the true model is exclusion of the head/tail lights, the chain guard and the chain - but hoping to add these details eventually.
The lamppost is of a Victoria Kensington style, and its original purpose was to support the frame weight of the bicycle. It now is an important feature of this display, adding to the retro feel of the creation.

What started out as a challenge to use the Hailfire Droid tyres became one of my favourite builds to date! I started this creation with wanting to build a vintage bike, in a colour what would be a bit challenging but also be most accurate to the colour scheme of this model of bicycle.
The framing of the bike is mostly connected by flex tube, initially I had wanted to keep the bike up by the kickstand but with the weight I was forced to create an anchor point for the bike to stay up from, hence the lamp post! There have been quite the challenges with this creation, gravity being my biggest foe! My focus was to create the bike as proportionate as possible, which meant finding ways to recreate the bends and curves of the frame.
The picnic scene came much after when I thought about a memory of the last time I rode my bike in the summer. Living in the city for the past 14 years, I was initially upset as a child that picnics were had just steps away from highways but my dad explained that driving out a few hours to eat food outside on a blanket was ridiculous! Some of my fondest summer memories are on a bike; the last time I had adventured with my dad was on one.
For the picnic, I started imagining how to build fruit to this proportion and realized that alot of new minifigure elements would come in handy. The basket ended up working tremendously, even though initially I had made a joke about how ridiculous the idea was to use Barney Main roofing technique as a basket’s weave. I spent 2 days during BrickCan Vancouver putting these hands on with tweezers and as you might imagine everyone who witnessed this thought I was nuts (I still don’t have feeling in my thumb).
This creation was initially showcased at BrickCan in Vancouver and shockingly won both in the Best Art category and Best in Show overall. And at BrickWorld Chicago this won Best Artwork. This will also be at Skærbæk, BrickCon and Brick Generation Days in Italy.

Me and nicky have been planning a new series of images for my portfolio and to share. One thing about nicky is that she loves the 50s. So wanted to do 50s style for her plus i knew it what look amazing. This has to be my finest strobe image to date. I really love it. :-)
This shot was taken in a abandon house near were we love. This house has been abandon for a while but what was amazing was that the place was full of 50 and 60s paraphernalia. So setting the shot up was very fun. And that news paper we found was from 1961. Sooooo cool.
