Licca sending her greetings from the periphery of the polar night. Daylight time is at the moment officially 4h 10 minutes here, but in reality it's just more or less dark all the time. :)
My family had our meat chicken show this morning and oh my goodness, it was crazy! My brother got Grand Champion and my sister got Reserve! It was so exciting! It's never happened to us before.
C’est avec 4h de retard que je viens de m’immobiliser au terminus de ce 3665. En effet suite à un accident de personne le train a été retenu plus de 4h en gare de Bretigny. Il est 3h du matin et la brume est bien présente dans cette gare vide. On immortalise le train, dont un hibou à explosé un fanal et direction le dodo. La machine et la rame repartiront à peine 3h plus tard avec l’IC 3634.

The 2'6" line between Futwah and Islampur was the last survivor of six lines operated in India by Martins Light Railways.
When I first visited in January 1979 the line was moribund due to flooding and 0-6-2T 4H built by Manning Wardle of Leeds in 1923 was lying in bits around the shed at Futwah.
Four years later in March 1983 I was fortunate enough to ride behind 4H from the halfway point at Hilsa back to Futwah.
4 H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, grows confident young people who are empowered for life today and prepared for career tomorrow.
4 H programs empower nearly six million young people across the U.S. through experiences that develop critical life skills.
The four-H's stand for: Head, Heart, Hands and Health. They represent the four points of the 4-H pledge: clearer thinking, greater loyalty, larger service, and better living.
4-H in Virghinia Beach is part of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service conducted by Virginia Tech and Virginia State Universities. It is an informal, hands-on education approach focusing on building lifelong learning skills that develop youths' potential through community clubs, special-interest groups, camps and in-school programs. Projects cover subjects ranging from citizenship, foods and health, to animal sciences. These are "learn-by-doing" programs for youth ages 5-19.
Virginia Beach 4-H gathered at the Creeds Ruritan Barn to begin a two-day Livestock Show and Sale event. Local children spent months raising hogs, goats, sheep and steer that were weighed and judged on showmanship. Following the show, the animals were auctioned off.

Members from three Ontario 4H Miniature Horse Clubs competed in the Horse Palace at the Canadian National Exhibition yesterday.
Finalists regional presentations had there chance to compete statewide. A good turnout. Andrew and Theresa took Gold. Congratulations on a great performance!

Baker County Fair in Baker City Oregon.
Baker County is home to more than 2 dozen Oregon Century Farms and Ranches and agriculture is still an important part of the local culture. The Baker County Fair in Baker City is a celebration of this rich agricultural heritage. The second weekend in August, the fair is all about farming, agriculture, and 4H, offering visitors a glimpse of rural Americana.

Young people involved in 4H take center stage at small county fairs in Iowa. It is pleasing how most of them handle their cattle with sure and gentle hands.
