An origami owl couple, together for years and still happier with each other. How do I know this? ...... because I folded them years ago and turned them into a brooch.
The image of the owls on the doormat (see first comment box) reminded me of them again and also that I still hadn't photographed them.
They are folded from different pieces of handmade paper and afterwards treated with lacquer so that they last longer as a brooch.

The thread looked neatly wound around these bobbins at first, but the bobbins continually toppled. I finally let threads dangle.
Almost 4cm/1.57 inches tall. These just look large because the Laowa lens lets me move the lens in almost touching the subject and then magnifies by two.
In January 2022 I asked a Flickr support hero to remove me from the Explore algorithm. I feel more relaxed and in the moment.
Inspired by #curves and #MacroMondays, a circle of wires.
"Toroidal inductors and transformers are inductors and transformers which use magnetic cores with a toroidal (ring or donut) shape. They are passive electronic components, consisting of a circular ring or donut shaped magnetic core of ferromagnetic material such as laminated iron, iron powder, or ferrite, around which wire is wound."

My first idea for a photo of these flowers was to put them in the garden and then take a picture, but since it has been raining all the time, I decided to make an origami spring bouquet on the wall ;-)) With the help of PS I was able to create a suitable frame.

You might not say it, but the origami tulip and daffodil have the same basic shape. That's why they belong together. The stem is imaginary, which I find funny about these flowers.

First time using flash! --- is it too bright?
The red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) is native to Neotropical rainforests where it ranges from Mexico, through Central America, to Colombia. It is sometimes kept in captivity. As is this one, but I was reassured that the flash lights did it no harm. This one was tiny - about 4cm! The specific name of the red-eyed tree frog, A. callidryas, comes from Greek words kallos (beautiful) and dryas (a tree or wood nymph).
During the day, they remain motionless, cover their blue sides with their back legs, tuck their bright feet under their bellies, and shut their red eyes. Thus, they appear almost completely green, and well hidden among the foliage.
Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily but I’m skipping it this week since I have some new props that I wanted to show you…
Yes, I had to get another lensball (the smaller one, 4cm), it is very hard for me to resist a lens ball… I also got those caliper style stands for rocks and I’m using them with my lensballs… Isn’t that cool ? I hope you will like it as much as I do… And since my picture was a little bit processed , this is my contribution to Sliders Sunday.
What did we learn through this experience of getting new props ? I definitely have to wash my windows…It is an emergency.
See you later my friends and have a beautiful day !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

Found this funny 'loco -motive' and thought that this model would be a nice start of a new little origamicat-series. While folding it, the song of Take the 'A' Train by Duke Ellington and his Orchestra popped up in my mind. It is one of the first videoclips (1943), the song was written by Billy Strayhorn. This origami cat is related to the 'Sitting Cat' and the 'Napping Cat' (see first comment box). The designer is the same.
This is the more complex one, so a bigger sheet of paper is needed. I used a 24x24cm orange tant paper.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is magnetic. I’m one of those persons who can’t resist an attractive force of a magnet. I can’t throw away magnets even if they are useless. I have magnets from all kinds of old items like old computers hard drives or old toys. The original item was discarded long time ago but I kept the magnets … My 2 sons seem to have the same obsession as me. They love playing with magnets. My today’s picture has an old very strong magnet in it and few tiny round black magnets my son got as a gift. Those tiny black magnets (they are about 0,4cm each and we have about 400 of those) are truly awesome and very fun to play with… However, due to their tiny size they are very difficult to find if separate from the rest of the magnetic group…I hope you will like my picture and have a magnetic Monday my friends !!
Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!
FYI: because of my renovation project I have to, constantly, move our stuff from one room to another on a very short notice !! So once again, I have to apologize for not answering your comments… I will try to catch up very shortly but for the next few days I’m afraid I will be M.I.A. (missing in action) !!!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

And back to the origami trains once more ;-))
As you can see, it is not only the Locomotive , but also the Grain Car, the Freight Car, the Coal Car and the Caboose. I put them in that order behind the locomotive.

The Macro Mondays group theme for 3/20 is small and smaller. Am going simple this week with two small wooden hearts- Could this symbolism? - why, yes, indeed it could. Been told that today (Sunday) is Mother’s Day in the UK!! In the US we’ll have to wait til May.
The size verification will be in the first comment box and is also in my photostream. The navy blue heart is about 3.4cm or an inch and a quarter.

The Prince - Agaricus augustus Fr. or King of the Agarics!
The Agaricus augustus is far from common in the UK and Ireland and is supposed to be one of the finest edible fungi around, hence the name, The Prince!
This is a first for me (YAY) and five in total! You could say it was quite a dramatic moment, such a beautiful thing! I'd stood at this point a few days earlier with my friend, Joan. We were photographing Wood Blewit (fungi), so to go back three days later and find these beauties had appeared after the rainfall was such a bonus.
I decided to go back to photograph them again, hoping that they were much larger after yet more rain. Too late, they'd been 'lifted' and only 1 broken stipe and cap left...someone either lifted them for the purpose of photography (it happens) or had a delicious supper, not a trace left of the others at all...goodnight sweet Prince! :(
Information on The Prince.
Cap - 10 to 25cm across (exceptionally 30cm) at maturity; initially hemispherical, becoming broadly convex and sometimes flattening completely; the cream surface is covered in large reddish-brown scales.
Gills
Free; pale pink, turning very dark purple-brown with age.
Stipe (stem) - 10 to 20cm long and 2 to 4cm diameter and have a large pendulous white ring; the white surface of the stipe is smooth above the ring and has small woolly scales below.
"""They insisted that I take a group photo of them.......so I did.

Anyway, yesterday I showed you the whole train set (see first comment box, if you missed it), today a different view on the locomotives and their first car for three reasons: First the left red one has a different folded front and chimney, second I did a color change, third just because I like them ;-))
This will be also the last photo of this mini train series. Thank you all very much for your very nice and kind comments, views and favs, much appreciated!
I will be off for two weeks. Have fun and sweet dreams, take care and see you later ;-))
