Just a neighborly encounter.. The squirrel was curious and came close to the falcon.. he in turn, let her know that she's close enough, huffed and puffed a few times and the squirrel left😃. Also, somehow the squirrels know that they are not on this falcons menu and therefore there's no threat..
Newcastle, Gateshead and the Tyne Bridges, 12 November 2022. Some of the bridges that link Gateshead and Newcastle across the River Tyne.
Closest is the 1928 opened Tyne Bridge, recognisable to millions across the world as the starting point of the Great North Run.
Next is the 1876 Swing Bridge, which at one time opened several times a day to allow colliers in particular to get upriver to the staiths at Dunston and elsewhere. Next is Stephenson's High Level Bridge of 1849, the first two level road and rail bridge in the world. Next is the Metro Bridge, officially opened on 6 November 1981. Partly visible further upstream is the 1906 King Edward Bridge, the latter obscuring the Redheugh (Red-yuff as pronounced locally) Bridge, completed in 1983 to replace earlier structures of 1871 and 1901.

Convict Lake lies in the Sierra Nevada, nestled between Mount Morrison on the left (I think) and Laurel Mountain on the right. The lake itself is at 7550 feet / 2310m elevation, and Morrison towers at 12,241, the highest peak in the area. (Mt. Whitney, at 14,505 ft/4421m, is the highest peak in the contiguous US and is just about 100 miles to the south.) That early dusting of snow really dressed up this alpine lake already trimmed in fall colors.
If you were wondering about the lake's name, it comes from the 1871 story of escaped and sequestered convicts. There was a shootout and it took a few months before the shootout survivors were all rounded up and lynched. Mount Morrison was named for Robert Morrison, one of the good guys who was gunned down in a shootout.
B&O 4808 leads RS-97 past some of the carnage from a wreck of an SR-94 that occurred earlier in the year. The RS-97 is really into the grade to Gainesville here at Evans Road in Rock Glen, NY on May 29, 1980.

Here we have a correct leader on a stack train and I almost got completely double tracked by the shadows off the train moving east on M2. I'll take an EMD leading a stack train over a GE any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
4808 leans into the curve at MP 16.5 on the UP Kansas Sub with the 710 screaming as it tries to make track speed.
Did a nice job of hiding that POS GE second out to boot!
