Am 15.10.2018 bespannten 218 490 und 218 480 gemeinsam einen SyltShuttle von Westerland (Sylt) nach Niebüll. Hier passieren die beiden "Kotzfarbenen" Maschinen gerade die bekannte Fotostelle am Friedrich-Wilhelm-Lübke Koog.

Eine gerade startende Vogelherde über den Loks nachträglich entfernt.

480. Maroon Hollyhock by Hana's Flower project

Alcea Rosea Spotlight Blacknight | Hollyhock

In the past, most Alcea rosea cultivars have been biennials however, the Alcea Hollyhock Spotlight Series are true perennials with stable, straight colored, single flowers. The Rosea Spotlight Blacknight bears rich, velvety purple-black blooms on tall stately stalks. These hardy plants will grow to 6 feet tall with branches of 4-5" single blossoms.

With the height of their flower stems, hollyhocks are commonly used as a backdrop in perennial beds and are well suited for 1 gallon or larger sized containers. Pinch to produce more compact and bushy plants. Hollyhocks attract butterflies and hummingbirds and are beautiful in cut flower arrangements.

A fortuitous layover in Silverton meant I was able to catch the arrival of the first morning train. Alas, the sun disappeared behind the only cloud in the sky at the exact arrival time.

Baldwin 1925 built K-36 class 380 is seen here making a spirited arrival.

Heroes of the future with Balaton InterCity to Budapest, captured on the shore of Balaton not far from its provenience in Keszthely.

Toen ik in de verte iets met een grote blauwe dieselwalm de helling zag beklimmen, wist ik

eigenlijk al genoeg: een V160. Op deze foto de in oceaanblauwe/beige kleurstelling gehulde 218 480 van Railsystems RP die op 4 maart 2025 met 8 lege Fas-ballastwagens langs Kaarst passeert. De loc pendelde in die week al een paar dagen op en neer met lege wagens richting Krefeld en beladen wagens richting Neuss. ‘s Avonds werd de machine weggezet op Neuss Güterbahnhof. De loc is in 1977 door Krauss-Maffei gebouwd en vervolgens door de Deutsche Bundesbahn in dienst gesteld en ondergebracht in het Bahnbetriebswerk in Regensburg.

Deutsch: Als ich in der Ferne einen großen blauen Dieselqualm den Hang hinaufsteigen sah, vermutete ich eigentlich schon etwas von einer V160. Dieses Foto zeigt die 218 480 von Railsystems RP in ozeanblau/beiger (elfenbein) Lackierung bei der Durchfahrt bei Kaarst-Broicherseite am 4. März 2025 mit 8 leeren Fas-Schotterwagen, inklusive freundlichem Lokführer. In dieser Woche pendelte die Lok bereits seit einigen Tagen mit leeren Wagen Richtung Krefeld und beladenen Wagen Richtung Neuss hin und her. Am Abend wurde sie dann im Güterbahnhof Neuss abgestellt. Die Maschine wurde 1977 durch Krauss-Maffei gebaut und anschließend bei der Deutschen Bundesbahn in Dienst gestellt und im Bahnbetriebswerk Regensburg stationiert.
