Thirty three years ago to the day sees a couple "Bigs" in charge of Montreal-Chicago train 501 as they ease their way into the Detroit River Tunnel.
Electric locomotive 4710 leading the usual Sunday loco transport train from Entroncamento to Praias-Sado.
Grass snakes about again this morning - this one hunting in the walled garden pond up at Copped Hall. They are so elusive but this one sat watching me for about 5 minutes before tasting the air and deciding it didn't care for me

Op 9 augustus werd aan bord gestapt van de nachttrein van Boekarest naar Chisinau. Een zalige rit in oude Bautzen-rijtuigen in echte Soviet stijl. Slapen is moeilijk - grenscontroles om middernacht en bogies wisselen maken het eigenlijk onmogelijk om deftig te slapen. Op 10 augustus werd uitgestapt in Chisinau. Jammer genoeg was ik te laat om de lijndiesel te fotograferen maar de rangeerloc kon ik nog fraai fotograferen, daarna kwam nog een goederentrein het station binnen - die kon ook gefotografeerd worden. Later die dag werd naar het niet-erkende republiek Transnistrië gegaan, een dag later vlogen we met de maatschappij Air Moldova terug naar Boekarest, die maatschappij bestaat vandaag de dag niet meer.
