smaller than a PEA

After passing the Huaxtitla siding less than 1km south, FXE 4600 and company are now fighting the steepest part in the Acultzingo district, those GE prime movers surely broke the silence in the valley.

In the background, the mighty Viaducto de Vaqueria adds to the background as it waits for the passage of this loaded manifest train.

In my latest trip to Ferrosur territory, I had my eyes set on 2 particular units to get leading, FXE 4600 & 4816, both of them being ES44's that had recently got massive wreck repairs and a repaint to the new corporate scheme "Zebra" at the Wabtec San Luis Potosi shop, and those 2 goals were completed in the best way possible!

Here, FXE 4600, still looking very fresh and FSRR 4548 pass the old south end of the Mezquite siding on their way uphill, a meet with a SB chemical is set for this siding.

And just a few minutes after clicking my previous post, the trailing unit (FSRR 4548) on the DVCMX decided to make the Ferrosur steam program official.

The train is seen entering the horseshoe curve at Mezquite, an amazing spot that sadly is surrounded by cops waiting for the opportunity to kick railfans away.
