Am vergangenen Samstag hatte sich am Morgen die 383 064 der EP Cargo (CD Cargo) für am Rhein angekündigt. Dank +733 Minuten Verspätung konnte ich den Zug in Form von DGS 45995 von Köln Eifeltor nach Bratislava-Petrzalka bei Tageslicht am Motivklassiker in Oberwesel fotografieren.
In Opdracht van CD Cargo zou de 383 064 van EP Cargo vrijdagavond 11 Februari vertrekken met een schuifwandwagentrein vanuit Eifeltor naar Slowakije. Ware het niet dat de trein met een vertraging van maar liefst 14 uur vertrok vanuit Eifeltor, tot vreugde van de aanwezige fotograven op zaterdagmorgen 12 Februari.
EP Cargo 383 064 heeft schuifwandwagentrein 45995 aan de haak, en is net vertrokken uit Köln Eifeltor, en heeft nog een lange reis voor de boeg totdat eindbestemming Bratislava-Petrzalka bereikt is. De foto toont de doorkomst te Hürth.
Amper 20 minuten na het passeren van RheinCargo was de volgende interessante trein in aantocht. Het was EP Cargo 383 064 verhuurd aan CD Cargo die eigenlijk de vorige avond al had moeten vertrekken uit Köln Eifeltor. Door een vertraging van meer dan 12 uur kon deze trein worden vastgelegd in de ochtend nabij Hürth.

Last pair of archived shots from the days of Kodachrome, which coincided with my backpacking days in the wildest places I could get into. This is one of Kluane National Park's great valley glaciers, more than a mile wide at its terminus, winding away into the Icefield Ranges where it is born amid Canada's highest peaks.
This was a solo trip, and had its share of challenges. After tiring of forcing my way through tiny aspens on nonexistent game trails, I tried the river flats and quickly bogged down in glacial silt. Almost lost my boots in the muck. It took me five minutes just to turn around. When I climbed back up the bank, there were fresh grizzly tracks; no doubt the bear stopped and had a good laugh. Crossing one alluvial fan after another with my loaded pack, over mud, water, gravel, boulders, deadfall (tree trunks and branches) and other debris washed down the slopes, at one point I just sat there, weeping. Seriously. I really had to make an effort to pull myself together.
My reward was solitude in a majestic setting, with glimpses into the heart of this northern wilderness. I had to climb a hill from my camp for this shot. There is some haze that even a polarizing filter couldn't remove. It isn't the best shot I made that week, but it does suggest the scale of the landscape, and so it slides into the series as my representative shot for 1989. One more to go!

Auf dem Weg in den Welser Verschiebebahnhof befindet sich am 19. Februar 2025 der RTB Cargo SGAG 45995 gezogen von der Stadler EURO9000 2019 305-2, bei besten Wetterverhältnissen gelang ein Foto bei Riedau an der Passauerbahn.
Am 6.September 2023 stand ich dann am späten Nachmittag weiter am Loreleyhafen in St.Goarshausen an der rechten Rheinstrecke (KBS 466) und beobachtete den Betrieb.
Der Blick über den ehemaligen Winterhafen am Fuße des weltberühmten Loreleyfelsen bietet zahlreiche Motive.
Ich wanderte weiter gen Norden unterhalb der Hafenmole und wollte das Feuerlöschboot mit in mein Bild einbauen:
Das Feuerlöschboot "Loreley" ist ein Einsatzfahrzeug der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr der Verbandsgemeinde Loreley, genauer gesagt der Einheit Sankt Goarshausen. Es ist ein umgebautes ehemaliges Bundeswehr-Landungsboot, das seit 1991 im Brandschutzdienst auf dem Rhein eingesetzt wird.
Das Boot ist im Loreleyhafen bei Rheinkilometer 555 stationiert und hauptsächlich für den Mittelrhein zwischen Kaub und Osterspai (Flusskilometer 542 bis 576) zuständig. Es dient der Brandbekämpfung und technischen Hilfeleistung auf dem Rhein und ist Teil der Gefahrenabwehr in diesem Bereich.
Und ich hatte wieder Glück: Die Kameraden der Feuerwehr trafen sich zu Wartungsarbeiten am Boot und auch der Zugang von der B 42 wurde mit Leitern verkürzt von Kameraden mit einem Einsatzfahrzeug.
Zwei Kameraden näherten sich mit ihren privaten Sportbooten.
Sehr interessant und selten zu sehen.
Jetzt musste ich nur noch warten und schon der erste Güterzug gen Süden war ein Highlight:
Die schöne Gysev Cargo 193 595 (Werbelok Raaberbahn Cargo) war unterwegs für Dispo-Tf und bespannte für Raaberbahn Cargo, der Tochtergesellschaft von Gysev Cargo, den DGS 45995 als Sonderleistung von Wanne-Eickel Hbf Wst nach Passau Hbf Voglau Staatsgrenze und weiter nach Wels Vbf CCT in Österreich und der war fast voll beladen mit Trailern von Lkw-Walter.
Dispo-Tf. Ist in Deutschland Partner von Raaberbahn Cargo und bestellt die Trassen.
Am 10.05.2025 verkehrte die LTE 193 280 mit dem 45995 aus Rheinhausen nach Trieste Campo Marzio und konnte zwischen Karlstadt und Himmelstadt im Maintal aufgenommen werden.

Traumhaftes sonniges Frühlingswetter gab es auch am 18.Mai 2023 als ich am Rheinufer in Bingerbrück stand und den Betrieb auf rechten Rheinstrecke (KBS 466) fotografierte.
Zu sehen ist links der inzwischen frisch renovierte sogn. "Mäusetum", der seinem Namen einer Sage zu verdanken hat.
Der erste interessante Güterzug war dann wirklich eine tolle Überraschung:
Gerade als die Sonne weit genug "rum" war kam der DGS 45995 aus Rheinhausen nach Wolfurt in Österreich von Frachtbahn Traktion und war bespannt mit der ELL 193 230 (Werbelok Forst Service Klade Group) und war fast nur mit blauen Triton Containern beladen.

Am 1.Juni 2023 stand ich wieder einmal auf der Schildmauer der Burg Fürstenberg in Rheindiebach im Mittelrheintal mit meinem Stativ.
Ich beobachtete den Zugbetrieb auf beiden Rheinseiten:

Der Zug hatte gerade die markante Pfarrkirche Kirche Sankt Bonifatius in Lorchhausen an der rechten Rheinstrecke (KBS 466) passiert und erreicht gleich die Wisperstadt Lorch.

This is a scan of an original kodachrome slide. It was scanned with an Epson Pro V750, and finished up with very minor post processing work in Photoshop. The default size of this image is 2000x1250 pixels.

The original comes from my own slide collection, which contains both my own photos and those acquired over the past forty or so years collecting.
I began uploading photos into this Flickr photostream to create a home for the slides that have been part of my collection. They deserve to be enjoyed by the aircraft enthusiast community as a whole rather than being tucked away in boxes and binders. Think of it like an old time aircraft slide show but for the 21st century.

The 2015 Weekend at the Asylum which is likely the largest and longest running Steampunk Festival in the World. It is held in the historic uphill district of Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
Since 2009, the festival (or convivial in Steampunk parlance) has been held each year in Lincoln and currently stretches over multiple venues in the historic cathedral quarter of Lincoln town, Lincoln Castle and Bishop Grosseteste University. It is run as a not-for-profit event organised by the Victorian Steampunk Society.
For four glorious days the historic streets of Lincoln are thronged with thousands of splendidly dressed steampunks enjoying a festival which strives to combine art, literature, music, fashion, comedy and simple good fun.
The event contains programmes of features and entertainment, such as the Empire Ball, Majors Review (The Major's Soiree) and the National Tea Duelling final, along with lots of live music and comedy and the largest steampunk market in the World, the Bazaar Eclectica.
