Een weekendje vakantie leverde ook nog een aantal treinen foto's op. Tijdens het verkennen van de omgeving viel mijn oog op de STAR dienstregeling en er bleek gereden te worden op zondag en niet met stoom maar met diesel waarmee mijn interesse gewekt was. Veendam was voor mij een grote onbekende dus de hele ochtend uitgetrokken om daar te vertoeven. Her en der ook wat stekken gevonden voor eventuele foto's waaronder deze vlak voor het STAR station Veendam. De conducteurswagen achter de loc was een fijne meevaller en de machinist in oud NS uniform ook.
I thought this pretty well summed up the second of my 2 snow days on my "spring fling" to South Dakota. When I got to the area, it was a balmy spring day, no snow anywhere. By the next morning, 3 inches of fresh snow had fallen, with the same coming on my Day 2. It really was a fairytale land for this SoCal gal.
