Black tailed godwit

Scientific name

Limosa limosa

A tall, elegant wader, the black-tailed godwit breeds in wet grasslands, and winters on coastal estuaries and marshes, and at inland shallow waters. A sociable bird, it forms large flocks when feeding, probing the mud with its bill for invertebrate-prey. Black-tailed godwits form monogamous pairs that last for years. Every spring, faithful couples will arrive at their breeding grounds within three days of each other, mate and raise their chicks together.

Many people see Swans as a beautiful and graceful bird. And they are.

But they also have another side. They are incredibly strong and can be extremely ferocious when they are protecting what they see as their space and their family.

Thanks for looking, etc.:)

An AC4400 with heterochromia (referring to the number boards.) After a few hours of waiting for 1111 at Dougren, the GMIVET finally heads toward Eugene for a meet with AMTK 11 and a crew change. Passing through some nice fall color at this curve in Jasper, I originally wanted to get the signal relay box out of the frame, but just decided to embrace it because this was the most convenient vantage point. Infrastructure is cool, anyways.

What a disgrace, this motor is. I am genuinely glad that this ugly ass railroad is finally almost gone. Hundreds of faded pink Gevos and ACes to 1 decent motor is very tiresome.

Anyway... this was a CP grain from the north headed towards interchange with BNSF and G KCKKIN5 30A.

The Story: An east bound trash train is lead solo by an SD70 still in YN2 paint, just past QA11 on the CSX Trenton Sub. Classic times.
