Right in the gut of rugged Rock Creek Canyon on Rio Grande’s Craig Branch, an eastbound coal train exits Tunnel 45 between Crater and Volcano, Colorado, on September 8, 1992. Four Tunnel Motors are up front, with two more as a swing helper in the middle of the train, with a symbol of AINNC (Axial mine to Nixon in Colorado Springs).

Now have complete studio, flare, and portraiture data sets for most of the lenses here and a few others. Happy to share thoughts informally via dm for anyone interested.

Everyone says that #Dune45 is called that because it is 45 km from the entry gate. I mean #everyone. Except for the guy that named all the dunes; the guy that started it all 30 or so years ago having seen the potential of tourism. According to that guy—who also runs the hot air balloon safaris in town—they numbered all the dunes sequentially. Dune 45 then is just the 45th dune that just happens to be 45 km from the gate. #purecoincidence
