The "No Gas Day Gas".
I was looking for this picture on Flickr and couldn't find it... so I'm assuming I never uploaded it.
Anyways... the Day Gas is working west towards St. Regis. The only work they'll do is swap empty centerbeams for loads and turn back to Missoula.
CP 4406 brings the 250 down Soo Line Junction and has just a few miles to go until it get to St Paul Yard on this damp morning. The smoke is from a nearby bonfire someone made this morning.

CPKC's Detroit Lakes Subdivision Local, J88, is halfway between Brooks and Erskine near the ghost town of Cisco in Polk County. Leading the train is CP 4406, a former Soo Line motor with a Nathan P3 horn to match making sounds echoing the old Soo Line itself.
CP 4406 sits in the Thief River Falls Yard a day after arriving in town as a the sole locomotive on train J89 from Glenwood. This former Soo Line unit was painted in the CP Rail Dual Flag paint scheme for the longest time before getting the final Canadian Pacific Golden Beaver. As an additional side note, this locomotive has a Nathan P3 horn, so the echos of the Soo Line can still be heard.
