Peppered Poison Frog (Ameerega pepperi) - Cordillera Azul, Peru

This is a really cool poison frog described in 2009 from a small portion of Peru. The area it lives in is drier than the areas in which closely related species reside, because of this A. pepperi are found almost exclusively in and near streams where it remains damp. In the proper habitat they were the most common frog and we found a half dozen within the first 15 min onsite, by the time we left I had completely lost count of how many we had encountered.
