World's Toughest Job
Somebody said something about my writing, i missed it. I was busy being the ridiculous, lonely, restless frustrated girl, sometimes of 3yo and sometimes of 3 hundreds, always in search for the unattainable. And a glitter gel pen to sign this story. I’m never scared of losing something, i’m scared that things might not happen. In between these, the words. The crutch words, those bony words with their interRegio schedule have returned to the depot. They sleep back to back with the dust mite guilty for everything that’s wrong with the world. The pauses are solemnly transmitting: three dots three lines three dots. The telegraphist is taking a selfie. Everything around me blooms loudly. i miss sinking my eyes into yours and feel the universe flowing. Your shadow scratches, mine bites, nobody has the time to forgive anymore. Every morning i pluck at the grass that grows on my hands, it rains so much lately. I’ve already made a haymow. You silly, cries the kid that follows me for some time now, don’t you see that she’s the Queen of the Night? Dear Ma,…what enters you, it never leaves. I go in my pictures for a while, but I’m still here, watching myself from behind. Memories can be triggered by the angle of sunlight, it is May, I am ageless and my heartbeat is all i can remember of my name. If we are lucky, something is passed on.
Genes, debris and narrative mostly.
I don't know why but I've never had the urge to put these creatures in front of the lens. That's until my 3yo daughter proudly presented me her find. :-)

About 11 years ago, the 3yo tried removing the DVD from its case. Unsuccessfully.
Now we stream everything.
And I kept the disc.
The Little Butcher, Thick-billed Shrike (juvenile).
Handheld with E-M1 Mk2 + Lumix 100-300mm.
It's been a while since I shot any birds, need to dust off the rust!
Olympus released a major firmware update this year for this 3yo model with many useful features straight from the company's flagship E-M1X especially in the AF.
Having bought the E-M1 Mk2 only recently, I'm still in the familiarization phase, just spent many hours figuring out the features and configuring it, especially the C1-C3 custom modes. I wished the custom modes can be assigned to buttons instead of the top wheel for faster access via muscle memory. Olympus' rather unconventional nomenclature in their E-M1 Mk2 menu is a bit of a PITA.
So far CAF seems inconsistent in burst, could be due to my old lens but may very well be new user error.
Really wished Olympus would bring out a 100-400mm zoom like what Panasonic has, soon. No need for weather sealing, keep the weight down (under 1kg) because Olympus has the best ultrasonic sensor cleaning function in the business (the only one that actually works!) and besides, what birds can one shoot in the rain? There does seem to be such a lens (non "Pro") on their roadmap. learnandsupport.getolympus.com/development-announcements
The E-M1X has Handheld High Resolution (HHHR) mode, would love this feature for shooting birds! HHHR with a lightweight 100-400mm zoom will be a killer combo for birds on a perch!
creative title, huh?
anyway..we were watching the French Open yesterday and he asked why they were playing tennis on a baseball field. Orange clay=baseball to a 3 yo.
You can tell we are much more a baseball family than tennis :c)

It's the time for New Year's resolutions, right? I will start with... I should take photos of my cats more often. :)
This is my youngest cat (3yo), Estrelinha (Little Star), seen here on top of a small plum tree wondering why birds always fly away. Her life didn't start out very well: she was found as a newborn in a public trash bin and bottle-fed by a friend until I adopted her. She's a healthy and happy cat now. She's also very sweet and trusting and I'm so lucky to have her.
Arthur recepcionando os convidados de seu aniversário. Uma criança amorosa.
Arthur receiving his party's guests. a 3 y.o. lovely boy. Such a great funny kid!
Found by our neighbour’s 3yo son this morning in his bedroom when he woke up. No idea what sort of frog it is but managed some rushed shots before he leapt off in to the undergrowth, much to the delight of the boys!
Postscript: I think it might be a Green and Golden Bell frog (Ranoidea aurea) 🤔
