Very tiny dewdrops in an ocean of colourful bokeh

The highly magnified droplets are clinging on to one of the little seed pods of that mysterious "Rainbow Plant" (smoke bush) which you've probably already seen here and/or here. If you haven't, then you've been missing out on something very special   ( ツ)

With a seed pod measuring less than 5 mm in "length". you can imagine how small the tiniest drops are, even if you can't see them with the naked eye. The next size down would be mist!   ( ツ)

Leaning back away from your tilted monitor screen, should create a 3D effect. The illusion is even more pronounced while in Lightbox and on full screen, of course. Let me know if it works for you!

Taken in situ and with 100% natural lighting, as always.

The gear! (new tab) - Shh!!! Mum's the word!

I hope you'll all have a really lovely Christmas with lots and lots of presents. But, go easy on the pudding!   ( ツ)

It only remains for me to wish you, and all around you, a Very Merry Christmas and a Bright and Colourful New Year!

Take care and many thanks for calling,

Till next time,

Colin … ;-)

You may be glad to know that this is the last picture in my "Rainbow Plant" series. You can see all the others here.   ( ツ)

                               ________ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ _________

This is a picture of the high building of the 'University of Amsterdam' on Roeterseiland reflecting another part of the same building with an angle of 90 degrees in the late afternoon sun. The rhythm of alternating areas with more or less distortions ànd the soft focus make this a multidimensional layered picture with an organic feel.

At least it works for me that way.

just having a play, when I took the images from lightroom and then worked in CS5 and then back into lightroom, the file was really small, the settings are as normal for my work flow, but not sure where the resolution went??

Trying new techniques ♥

It's as if HDR gives a bit a 3D effect at the picture in my opinion....

I am amazed by the 3-D effects chalk artists can achieve!!!

What looks like a 3D surface actually is the flat surface of a finely woven fabric. It's the small pouch LOQI tote bags come in. I don't use it to store the folded-up bag when I'm not using the latter. I'm keeping extra camera batteries, SD cards, and other photo-related small things in these pouches. The pattern that creates such a nice 3D effect is the "Sagmeister & Walsh Beauty Pattern", a mesmerising white-on-black pattern that I'd describe as "space worms" ;) And of course, the printed pattern is much smaller on the pouch than it is on the bag.

This is a simple one-shot image but it was a little tricky to find the right angle to get the best and most harmonious bokeh effect. I'm aware of the fact that from this angle, the "focus line" is wafer-thin. But it's there, and I think there's enough sharpness to make the image work.

I used one single (two, please see my P.S.) light source, the natural light photo lamp from above (and natural light from the windows, of course). Processed mostly in DXO and LR (the basics), with finishing touches in Analog Efex.

HMM, Everyone!

P.S. I forgot to mention that I also put my small LED flashlight inside of the small pouch for some backlight.

Helios 44M-7 58mm f/2 Wide Open

Macro. It's a little mushroom guy with a height of round about 15 mm. Sony A7II with e-mount adapted vintage lens Zenit MC Helios 44M-4 2/58mm. ISO 100. f/2.0. 1/13s. Wide-open shot.

This swirly environment is produced by green wet moss in the background. Due to this visual depth is generated. In addition a front lens swap was done in order to push this effect and an extension helicoid was used.

BTW: Another shot with this HELIOS lens can be seen here --> Burning Optical Fibers.

A different birthday card for Trisha.

The blond warrior prince, seated on his carmine motorbike, has just arrived at the ancient City of Gold. A beautiful warrior woman is running to meet him, while an ethereal witch is standing behind them, casting magic spells with her crystal sceptre. The blazing sun is shining bright in the blue sky.

The beautiful picturesque Florence country road as we traveled on our way to Tuscany in Italy in the summer of 2012. Just thought i would again play with some texture and selective blur on this shot to make this scene pop out a little more. Hope you guys like it and thank you for your visits and kind comments!

A bit of psychedelic sliding - opening up the pages of the universe like a sliding screen ;o)

As the image evolved I found myself humming "Across the Universe ...." from the Beatles last album as a group - "Let it Be". The lyrics are quite magical and so visual, I'd forgotten how good they are. There are a couple of YouTube versions:

Moody Blues cover version - from the Lennon 10 years memorial concert (skip the first 4 minutes approx to get the track)

Lyrics:

Words are flowing out like

Endless rain into a paper cup

They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe.

Pools of sorrow waves of joy

Are drifting through my opened mind

Possessing and caressing me.

Jai Guru Deva. Om

Nothing's gonna change my world (repeat)

Images of broken light, which

Dance before me like a million eyes,

They call me on and on across the universe.

Thoughts meander like a

Restless wind inside a letter box

They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe.

Chorus

Sounds of laughter, shades of life

Are ringing through my opened ears

Inciting and inviting me.

Limitless undying love, which

Shines around me like a million suns,

It calls me on and on across the universe

Chorus

The state tree for Oklahoma is the Redbud and right now they are popping pinkish purples across the state. I was working on the light and color to get it to that 3D effect in 2D.
